It's widely know his family made his choice for him. Recently there's been a lot of talk that he's worried about going to the <Rule 18> by himself and that he's not very pleased with his decision. He expected others to follow him and it didn't happen. The <Rule 18> surrounded him and his family and didn't give him a choice. He truly feels he has to make this decision for his family and said as much the week before he committed. The "winning isn't everything" "do it for my family" attitude he was spouting off in every interview said it all.

At the same time, it's his decision and ultimately he made his own bed.

What say you?

He put the pen to paper. As for his family, in 3 years he may have been a 1st rounder State with Mullen/Balis. The new reverend will cost him draft picks and more $$$ than the Bears could ever pay him

I have no ill will for the guy and actually hope that eventually he becomessuccessful even more so if his success is mutually exclusive to that of Ole Miss'. Regardless though... it was his decision as he's stated numerous times.

no more polls or open letters or whatever. He's got the right to make his college choice just like every other guy no matter what the reasons. With the great recruiting our staff is currently doing seems kind of petty to continue to keep focus on the one guy that got away. As Norman Dale said, let's support who we are, not who we are not.

I hate the Ole Miss fans. I have really never had hate for any of their players. Well except the Mannings. Can't stand those jackoffs.

He chose his bed, he can sleep in it.

If he's lucky, he will get to go to one bowl game in his career there, just like any signee we had in 2003-4, which is the shape their program is in.

I can completely understand why he's got itchy feet and has still been in touch with Bama coaches.

in the same way that I feel sorry for any high school football player who believes their best college option is to play for a women's basketball coach.

I don't agree at all with those comparing him to CJ. On one side, you've got a kid that simply chose another school over MSU and right or wrong, he seems to think he's doing what's best for his family. As far as I know, he hasn't said one negative thing about State.

On the other side, you've got a dipshit that had been committed to MSU for months, cheered for the Dawgs during an Egg Bowl win, and talked trash against OM throughout the year. However, suddenly as signing day approaches and MSU heads off to its bowl game, he inexplicably backs out of his commitment and decides that he's going to sign with State's rival. He then proceeds to enroll at OM as a brand new Z-71 magically appears in his driveway which he brilliantly decided to put out on the web. And finally, as the Egg Bowl rolls around which many of our bitter fans(including myself) had been waiting so long for, the moron can't get though the 1st quarter before blowing up the record books with an unheard of tackle for no gain against our QB as he pulls out the dastardly landshark sign. Those who witnessed it will remember that he made sure to give an equal dose to both sides of Davis Wade, and hopefully it took the sting of a shutout loss out of his system.

If Ward follows through with his commitment and remains a Rebel, I will simply root for him to lose. CJ, on the other hand, is on an entirely different level and I'll just leave it at that.
