He has improved the team, and their recruiting has been much better. I think people don't realize how bad of shape that place was in, and after listening to how Coker recruited like it was a video game, he'll likely get another year.
FSU, Ga. Tech, Va. Tech, Oklahoma. They could easily start out 0-4, and if that happens I doubt they finish better than 7-5. Combine that with another UF national championship and a resurgent FSU team, and Shannon could be on the hot seat. A lot of "ifs", but none of that would surprise me.
No way Tubbs isn't coaching somewhere next year, and I think A&M is a good fit. The only other major possibility I can see is him waiting for something to open up in the SEC, but with so many new coaches that might take awhile. I'll go ahead and say it though, if LSU loses a couple this year I could see some rumors starting up.
Texas A&M got their current coach from the Green Bay Packers. He brought a proven NFL style offense with him. Therefore it is a no-brainer that the Aggies will dominate.
If Miles collapses this year, which isn't impossible, then that job could open up as well. I've always felt like Tubby would either end up there or at A&M. As of right now, I'd definitely put heavier odds on A&M, and he'd be the perfect fit for that program. He's just the type of coach you need if you're an underdog that has to fight an uphill battle with your recruiting.
LSU people absolutely hate him. So naturally it would be a match made in heaven. I don't think he would go there, but I'm sure he will land somewhere and have his batteries charged and ready to go.
Sherman is awful and every Aggie I know is dying to fire him. A&M has coveted Tubbs for a while now, and I think Tubbs would like to be there. Honestly, I think if Sherman gives them half a reason to fire him this season they'll make the move mid-season before other teams can get in line for Tubbs.
If A&M fires Sherman I would expect them to consider opening up the bank for Houston Nutt if OM does well again this year. He has good recruiting ties there and the track record will be quite good. I was shocked when they didn't make a bigger push for him the first time around.
