LSU has no chance and UT's chances aren't much better. We've got by far the best chance, but we'd have to put two upsets in a row together. I'd say the odds break down like this:

LSU - 1% chance
Tenn - 5% chance
MSU - 25% chance

...but I think we would play Purdue in the second round, and I feel like that's a pretty bad matchup for us.

It's our 5th game in 8 days and we've got a Tampa to Starkville to Portland, Oregon road trip to throw in there too. Plus they're a good team and playing close to home. They'll definitely have a big advantage there. I do think we match up well with them though. Bost will shut their PG down (they played against each other in prep school last year and Bost's team won easily and Bost has shut Downy down twice). The only real concern I have is their physical inside play could cause a problem for Varnado.

Fact is all three schools are tough draws for anyone. IF Msu, Lsu and Tn play there best I can see sweet 16 for someone, grated Lsu and Tn have toughest draw but they have talent to play with anyone. Thornton could light somebody up as well as Chism who can be a beast.
I guess am sheepish on the lack of respect the SEC is getting, down year or not it still is a very good conference.</p>

the Sweet 16 this year. Certainly better than we had last year as a #8. TN and LSU both have the same dilemma we had last year to make the Sweet 16, they will have to go through a #1 seed to do it. The best we will see in our first 2 games is a #4 and #5. I like that MUCH better.

if taz and thornton get rolling... LSU can beat UNC by 10

we will be smothering folks in portland...unless someone lights us up for three and we go icy
i think the excitement will feed any kind of jet lag...

Rick told the junction via twitter, "You know who got the worst draw in the tournament? Washington."

I think we have the best shot out of LSU, Tennessee, and us to make it to the Sweet 16. They both have to go thru number 1 seeds, while we are much better than our 13 seed go up against beatable Washington and probably Purdue. I think out of us 3, our road to the Sweet 16 is much easier.

I see that as a 50-50 game for them at best. And then if they win, they play North Carolina 45 minutes from North Carolina's campus. They will not advance past this weekend. Period.

I like UT's chances better than LSU's in both the 1st and 2nd rounds, but they still would have to beat a pretty good Pitt team to make the Sweet 16. I don't see it happening.
