How can the NCAA not get rid of him? He broke recruiting violations and then mislead NCAA investigators by lying to them.

UT loves Bruce Pearl. Pearl has been the only decent hire AD Mike Hamilton has made. Mike won't get rid of Bruce, he wasn't going to suspend Pearl at all. Besides he has a lot to worry about. A lot of UT boosters hate Hamilton and want him gone. Plus, the NCAA is looking at UT for all 3 major sports. If the NCAA drops the hammer on UT and Hamilton is fired, then the new AD may clean house moving forward, but all that will take years to happen. Unless something else happens, Pearl will be at UT for a long time.
that he probably won't be fired, I think it's ridic that he won't be. The double standards with the NCAA are unbelievable.
The 8 game suspension by the Tennessee AD is simply a "shooting from the hip" manuever in an effort to try and keep the NCAA away. The NCAA, I believe, has stated that they plan on ruling sometime after the season.
If history is anything to go by (which with the NCAA it's not), Pearl will get canned. Look at what happened to Dez Bryant. Same exact situation, in my opinion... both were caught doing something against NCAA rules, both lied about it, and both came clean later.
