I realize that every program bends rules (some more than others) but I think with the SEC and NCAA microscope on us because of Newton, we have had to scale back on any extracurricular type tactics and it is costing us this year.

going on, but every idiot on every message board does, and is right. It's like since the NCAA is watching us, that they don't see ny other schools...lke it is literally being done behind theri back, and they can't look at it and figure out 2+2. They can't be that deliberate and stupid.

in early April? Or is this another SEC/NCAA tentacle of slime oozing from another recruiting sore?

Look at Mullen's first class. Give it to Croom he had most of the guys already committed all Mullen did was keep them. If he was as bad as everyone is implying we would have lost out on many that were on board before he got here. He had to go a resell the deal to Russell and close on Bumphis. I never thought that not going to a bowl is a good thing but the Bears spent thedead period like it wasblack friday.

I know the prevailing theory is that every program is dirty and to think otherwise is uber naive but if we won't pony up some cash for the best player in college football, i.e. Cam Newton, then why would we be paying recruits this year? We let a Heisman winning QB walk out the door over what is supposedly common place?

Turning in Cecil Newton has just put us on double secret probation but I really don't think it would have mattered. What's killing us is that the door has been kicked open for everyone else to go hog wild.
