I have a feeling that at some point we will be on the goal line and we will give the ball to Dixon for a jump pass (ala Tebow) and the D will be waiting with open arms.
I actually had the exact same thought the other day. I didn't think of Dixon specifically, but I could just see us trying that and it ending very badly.
You have to figure that if we do run this play. that it will be the most practiced play we have before Mullen will give a non QB the chance to either score or ruin a drive on the 2-3 yd line. If Dixon or anyone else for that matter cannot execute then Mullen will not allow him to give up all that yardage and success at the chance of an INT
"Lee hands the ball to Dixon [dead air] .... he throws the ball forward. It's CAUGHT and then DROPPED by Wilbanks. I'm not sure what that was, Jim. Looked something like a utah pass."
BUY...he has already done it a couple of times. Not this fall as of yet, but I remember in the spring during a scrimmage where the offense drove down the field
and then AD did it..it was crazy. Was it pretty..no, but a TE was waiting in the back of the endzone for the easy points.
you find out the guys that CANT do it in practice or throw picks in practice. Which is why I said you'd find out if he COULD execute. If he cant in practice, he wont get the shot in a game
