What about the QB from Mesquite, Tx? He seems to be leading the state. That would put 5 QB's on scholarship. (Assuming Dak comes back for his senior year). I'm not an expert but that seems scholy heavy for quarterbacks.

It would be six on Scholarship, unless something changes.

Right now, that is the least of my concerns. I hope he stays, but we'll be in very good shape at QB with Fitzgerald if he doesn't.

I noticed he was on special teams last weekend, so that means we burned his redshirt. I bet the staff is already planning on Prescott being gone next year with that move, while also appeasing Staley's ego.
If anything, I think Williams is more likely to leave.

From what I saw of Fitzgerald in the spring game, he was way ahead of where Dak Prescott was at that time in his career. So I would have been shocked if Staley jumped ahead of him this fall.

Perspective. The fact that you lack it is surprisingly unsurprising.

What do we gain by talking **** about the guy that Mullen openly calls "his first 5* QB recruit at MSU" who was the first top priority that's actually shown up since Dak -- in a place where it's almost certain that he will see/hear about it? A guy that has yet to take an actual snap at MSU and has all the upside and promise in the world. Being bashed basically to his face because he allows MSU fans to follow him on twitter and presume to define meanings of tweets that would almost certainly be reeled in by our staff if they were actually about MSU.

It's 17ing stupid is all. Pointless and stupid. The kid ain't Dak -- and our fanbase needs to prepare for the fact that the next guy will NOT be Dak. Bryce Petty isn't RG3. That doesn't mean the next guy can't be elite in his own right. But given his obvious "premadonna" tendencies -- I'm damn happy Cam Newton didn't actually show up in Starkville!11!1

Yep, at this point I think we can call Dak a 5* recruit regardless of what his rating was coming out of HS.

I know this is an old thread and I apologize for bumping it, but there are some Grade-A idiots chiming in here.

I just oust watched the SEC Wives segment that so many of you are using as "evidence" of Staley wanting to quit. Get a grip!

The only thing that footage shows is a true freshman who had a bad day during fall camp two-a-days.

Go watch his reaction to Megan's "pep talk". He's got his head held high and took his "punishment" like a man. If that doesn't convince you, go watch each of our six games this season and keep an eye on the "Juice Boys" on the sideline. Who's standing there leading the charge? That's right, it's Staley. The preponderance of evidence shows that this guy is 100% bought in.
