...your greater satisfaction would be the presumptive demise of Alabama's national championship hopes to a 3-6 team instead of anything related to MSU's accomplishment.

....I think I'd be glad we destroyed their season and also pissed that we solidified Croom being back another year.

As a state fan I would take greater satisfaction in saying I was there. You could tell a story like that for the rest of your life. See 1980.

i enjoy hating bama much more than getting the W and being absolutely certain that croom will be back. i still believe there is a slight chance that he could get canned depending on the outcome of the next three games. he wins this one and there is no way he is gone.

i will be glad if we win. but if we lose the worst case scenario is losing by less than a touchdown. the moral victory will give us an L and a much greater chance for more character next season.

Nothing would bring me more pleasure than to see Bama's NC dreams demolished, on their home field, in prime time, on ESPN2, by a ****** Sylvester Croom coached team. Misery loves company.

I would like nothing better than to go back home at Thanksgiving and be able to end any conversation about college football that involves:

Alabama going undefeated
Alabama winning an SEC title
Alabama winning a national championship
Alabama beating State

I have made peace with the fact that Croom will be our coach in '09 by looking at the schedule and deciding that there is no way he makes it to 2010, and we can write this decade off.

From a MSU perspective, I'd actually be pissed if we beat Bama because it would make the losses to LA Tech, Auburn, Tennessee and Kentucky even more inexcusable. And as you say, would guarantee Crxxm will be back next year.

Florida will take care of them in the SECCG.

I don't want Croom to have any leg whatsoever to stand on once this season ends. We may have him back for one more season regardless, but GB's decision to bring him back gets a little tougher with each loss mounting.

If we beat Bama and then finish 4-8, it won't mean a damn thing. Now if we beat them and then finish 7-6, it might mean something, but even then it would just piss me off all the more that we lost 4 games there was no excuse in the world to lose.

this story could have it's own twist. We were terrible and beat them out of nowhere only to drop our next two games and thus provide a microcosm of our rich football history.

To deep?

How anyone could be pissed with us beating Bama is beyond me. It is just idiotic. Odds are Croom is back next year anyway, and nothing would make me happier than screwing the national title hopes of those ******** in Tuscaloosa

It would be great to see their faces and reaction if they lost to us again. They will never be able to grasp reality if we beat them. But I'm not thinkign we will win. Terrance Cody is going to blast our offensive line and our back field. I just hope Tyson Lee and the rest of our ****** QBs pack enough body armor and pain killers for the amount of hell they will be going through if that guy sacks them.

Bama was #8, MSU was ready to fire JWS. MSU pulls the upset and keeps JWS. Impossible....true, but stranger things have happened.

is that if John Bond doesn't fumble at the goal line against Florida, we would've shared the SEC title with Georgia. And if UGA doesn't get the miracle 90-yard TD pass against Florida the same day we beat Alabama, we would've gone to the Sugar Bowl.

I know.. if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. But still - we were THAT close to winning the title.

Although, like I've said a million times, Croom is going to be the coach in 2009, unless someone discovers pictures of him molesting a goat. There is no way Byrne will fire him 1 year removed from SEC COY. None.

I hate to sound like the stereotypical sixpacker, but there is nothing good left for MSU football this year. I care far more about there being egg on the face of Bama fans. Who Bama falls to wouldn't bother me either. I would take just as much joy in it if Ole Miss beat them.

No blow up here, whatever that means. I just think it is crazy to be pissed if your team beats the #1 team in the country. That's just me though

To steal from Drebin, a win here will be bad for us in the long run. I will sacrifice this season (which is already down the tube anyways) and another blowout loss to Alabama, Arkansas and OM in hopes that Greg finally pulls the plug. What good would a victory over Bama do us? Get us to 4-8 instead of 3-9 and guarantee Croom for at least one, if not 2 more years? NO thanks!

Once again there is a very good chance Croom will be back next year, the Bama results will not change that. So in the time being ruining Bama's prefect season would be great. And I can assure you that beating Bama would not lock Croom in for another two years. He will be forced to make changes this year and if he does so and still wins 3 next year I think he will be gone

....I think there is no better than a 30-35% chance that we get rid of him with a 3-9 record. That chance gets reduced to 0% if we win any of the next three. However, if the big money boys want him gone and are ready to pay for it, we'll pull the trigger. If they don't, we won't. Simple as that.

"100% chance Crxxm will be back next year" with a win over Bama. And his hotseat wouldn't be quite as hot as it would be otherwise.

And as Brian did, to borrow a phrase from Drebin, "Last season was bad for us in the long run." If Crxxm had finished 5-7 last year, there'd a damn good chance of firing his useless *** this year.

and really at this point why not? We could always use the "they gave him enough time" publicity while everyone else is being bashed for pulling the trigger so fast.

Who cares at this point really. It's not like a coach is going to turn this thing around in one year.

Right now, I think it's 75/25 Croom is back next year. We lose out, especially if we lose badly to OM, I think there's a 50/50 chance Croom is back. 3 wins in 4 out of 5 seasons should be unacceptable, no matter if the AD is in his first year on the job and Croom is the defending SEC COY. If we were to beat Bama, Croom is definitely back next season. I simply do not want that. Go Bama!

We will just agree to disagree. I think Croom is back unless he leaves on his own instead of firing his boyfriend Woody. Until then I hope we can ruin Bama's perfect season

.....and I'm pulling for our PLAYERS to get at least one win they can hang their hat on. This would be the mother of all if they could somehow pull it off. It also won't hurt at all to see Bama's national championship hopes dashed.

Like Costanza said, Croom ain't going anywhere even if we get blown out in the last three games. I also don't think that we're going to do anything drastic enough to not at least be able to force a change at OC.
