Depends on how we play of course, but if it's anything like the last two weeks there is no way we sellout Arkansas unless someone magically needs an extra 1,000 tickets for friend and family.

Easy Buy.

If they claim a sellout, it'll be because someone juked the stats.

3 straight loses. Arky at 11 am.

17 everybody who's jumping off the bandwagon right now...

3 years ago we'd have killed to be sitting at 7-2 right now. Everybody would have said then all they wanted was steady progress to be made toward being a consistent winner.

Well.. here it is. Steady progress toward being a winner. That doesn't mean you win every 17'ing game at this point.

Sheesh.

I'm out after this past weekend.

I've been to 8 of our last 9 games and the last 2 stuck the fork in me. Went to Troy and watched that same pathetic defense that continues to show up.

I don't have it in me to drive 2-1/2 hours for an 11am kickoff again. Just not worth it.
Yes, I've told myself that we would have killed for this back during the Croom era, but it would take a monumental performance this Saturday to turn me around.
And do any of us expect to see that?

I, as the rest of you on here, have given all I can and I just don't see Dan winning games that are important. I can only take so many South Alabama and J-State victories. And worse, we are getting blown out now against the top tier talent, where we used to be able to hang in there. Now we just quit.

So if we lose to LSU and then beat Arkansas and Ole Miss to finish 9-3 and go to the Peach Bowl then you are out because we failed to meet the oh so loftly standards of the proud MSU football tradition?

Some of you seriously need to get some perspective or just quit following State all together. Say it with me "State will never...ever...ever.. compete for a national title". Accept it and enjoy at least having a winning program in the toughest conference in America.

To be fair, three years ago it was the schedule, not anything to do with MSU...

Look at the 2009 schedule:

Sat, Sept 5

1-0 (0-0)
Sat, Sept 12

1-1 (0-1)
Sat, Sept 19

2-1 (1-1)
Sat, Sept 26

2-2 (1-2)
Sat, Oct 3

2-3 (1-2)
Sat, Oct 10

2-4 (1-2)
Sat, Oct 17

3-4 (1-2)
Sat, Oct 24

3-5 (1-3)
Sat, Oct 31

4-5 (2-3)
Sat, Nov 14

4-6 (2-4)
Sat, Nov 21

4-7 (2-5)
Sat, Nov 28

5-7 (3-5)

When looking objectively it comes down to AU being a decent team in 2009 and you playing Florida instead of a pretty bad UT team.

In all honesty, I would think the 2009 MSU team would have been 7-0 with this year's schedule. That 2009 defense was extremely talented, you had Dixon, and a seasoned OL. Hell that 2009 team played LSU and Florida extremely tough.

In fact I wonder if they played, who would win? 2009 MSU or 2012 MSU? Looking at that 2009 MSU defense, I think you have to go with them. I mean McPhee, Cox, Love, WRight, White, Cheney and Mitchell all ended up in the NFL.

I will promise you that we will be lucky to finish 1-2 out of these last 3 games. 0-3 is not out of the possibility. It's that "State will never ever" mentality that kepts us down on the farm, so I guess I'm just following the herd, Hanmudog.

I told my wife on Saturday night, in frustration, that my company competes with companies in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Louisiana and my company nevers takes that "Oh, were MSU and we'll never ever be able to compete with the big boys" attitude. I can't sit around and just say "Oh, I better not go after that order or the state of Alabama may get pissed off!". I'm sure every one of you that own a company feel exactly the same way, especially when you go into Bryant-Denny and lose the those mullet heads. I feel it's time that our alumni to start looking at MSU football in a similar fashion.

This is where I am right now. If you are going to stand at the podium and thump your chest about relentless effort, you damn well better practice what you preach.

Would have lost to Tennessee, Troy, Alabama and A&M. Record would have been 5-4 same as TSUN.

My point is that it is fine to shoot for a national title and a program that resembles LSU or Bama but at the same time it is crazy for State fans to be freaking out this badly when we fall short because even an 8-4 season would be a hell of alot better than what we are accustomed to over the last 100 years of football at MSU.

We need to be shooting for a sec west division title. We shouldn't even be talking sec title or nc, until we can accomplish that.

Hanmudog, it's not as much about losing as it is about getting your *** beatdown and not competing. I'll probably go to our bowl game (outside of **** Memphis). Watching us whip up on patsies has been fun this year, but after going to Ttown and watching us this past Saturday and staring down another beat down in BR... I'm out for 11 a.m vs Ark as well.

Rumor is Mullen buys the unsold tickets

to keep the sellout streak alive. Do you actually think the Alcorn State game a couple of years ago that was an 11am kickoff a sellout? I do think most of the games are sellouts, but there has been a few games the past few years that are very questionable if they are really sellouts or not.

Sell. It's Arkansas. This game was probably close to being sold out a month ago. If our upcoming home game were against a weaker out of conference team it might be a soft buy, but I'd still probably sell because I think we'd make sure it would be a sellout for the last home game (having come this far).

Well, you still have to win the sec championship, but you are right. If you win the sec west division, the rest will take care of itself. Focus on winning the sec west first. Then the sec championsip game. If we lose the sec championship game and have only one loss, then chances are you go to a bcs bowl. Anyway, focus on one step at a time. Right now it appears we are focused on going to back to back to back bowl games. One step at a time. I have nothing against this strategy, but don't try to blow smoke and start talking championships when you know it can't be acomplished. I think that's what has everyone pissed off. I am tired of having smoke blown up my ***. Let's just lay out some goals for this season and try to do it, with the long term goal of winning the sec division

You are misremembering about the 2009 defense. Maybe it was "talented" but it was very young overall and wasn't good. Our current defense is much better than that unit was. There will be just as many in the NFL on our current unit as there were on that previous unit. Actually probably our most talented top to bottom defense. That is what makes our struggles so frustrating.

I just don't

get this. Our offense was just not good enough in 2009. You cannot win without a good QB. Tyson Lee put all he had into being a SEC QB, but he was just not talented enough.

It's probably already a sellout, unless Arkansas returned a lot of tickets. Sellout does not equal attendance ... a lot buy and don't come to the game. It wasn't full for the A&M game ... quite a few empty seats in the ends of the upper decks. Even Alabama has that situation.
