This is going to be an interesting topic the next few weeks or so (or however long it takes to figure this out). If the NFL offers him a bargain (as it's reported), they look weak and are essentially admitting an over-reaction. If they go to trial and lose, they lose very, very big. The only way the NFL comes out of this with the same reputation that Goodell is trying to enforce, is if they go to trial and win.

It'd be a lot easier to save face by saying that after reviewing the evidence, including information provided by Wilma, they are no longer convinced that he was involved. Offering a "plea bargain" is ********. If they think they can prove he's guilty of something, they should move forward. If they don't think they can prove it, they shouldn't be trying to hand down punishments based on things they suspect.
