I'm gonna say 2nd round. So sell. He's exciting and could have some success in the pros, but I would be afraid he would stay hurt.

its a huge chance. He's sort of a Favre-Vince Young hybrid. Heard the Texans want him pretty badly

Buy.

Someone will take him. And when they do, I hope he keeps up with all the cocky **** he does. Someone will knock his head off in the NFL.

He's a locker room nightmare. That being said, one desperate team would still take him. The NFL has gone crazy, so who knows. The league is split between the haves and have nots, and the have nots would do anything to have a Pro Bowl QB.

Him in Houston makes a lot of sense. Sell because I don't think he SHOULD but buy because Houston is going to have a prime pick to get him.

It's not so much that they're crazy as it is that there are only about 20 NFL-starting caliber QBs in the world. And if you don't have one, you're screwed.

Do you guys think he's as good as cam? I think he's right there. Maybe he's a little faster but he's also a little more wild. I think he will have a issue with interceptions. Look at his passes, a lot of them would be picked off in the nfl against good db's. I could be wrong, I didn't think cam would do good in the nfl either.

A lot of his passes are picked off by college DB's. He's thrown like 11 picks. If tebow went in the first round I have no doubt Manziel will. I just don't think he will be great.

Buy - notable first round QBs the last few years: Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Josh Freeman, Jake Locker, Christian Ponder, Blaine Gabbert, Sam Bradford, Brandon Weeden.

I'm not sure a single guy listed there is starting this week (either due to being a bust or injury).

With what we've seen from JFF while playing in the toughest division in college football, no doubt in my mind that he deserves as much of a chance as those guys.

Not on an NFL level

and comparing them in the fact that they're hotshot college QBs known for they're mobility that don't have the skillset to make it in the nfl.

I agree he has too many picks. His ego is so huge he thinks he can thread any needle. It would be up to his pro coaches to teach him to throw it away in some cases.

Push. He could go either way

I see him as a more talented Jeff Garcia. He may be a total bust or a good nfl player. I really don't know. He's quicker and a better passer than Crouch.

Sell. He takes way too many risks with the ball. He's gonna be a turnover machine.

Not trying to be a dick but freeman or ponder have to start since they're on the same team. But I agree, both of the suck. Someone will take JFF and they will sell a bunch of season tickets just for the same reason Tebow did. But I don't think he'll be successful. Pat White was a superstar in college who won 4 bowl games, isn't he playing baseball now?

You guys are underselling his arm strength. He was throwing 40 yard passes yesterday on a line.

His biggest concern is durability.

Sell. In a league where guys the size of RG3 have a hard time staying healthy, Manziel will not last in the NFL. And for all the "what about Drew Beees?" guys out there... there is nothing even remotely similar in their games. Plus, Brees is a one in a million exception to the norm.

I may be alone in stating this, but Manziel is right up there with Cam Newton for me in that I couldn't care less if I ever see his face or watch him take a snap again.

Sell. I'd spend a 2nd round pick on him though

He's been too dominant in the SEC to just dismiss him outright.

You're right - I haven't paid much attention to the Vikings and thought Ponder was still injured & Cassell was starting with Freeman as the backup.

True. And I should've said "somewhat accurately". He definitely benefits from the system and his own scramble-ability. He doesn't have to throw it into those tight windows like NFL QBs see.

But Crouch wasn't anywhere near Manziel in passing ability. And I was a big Crouch fan.

I think so, buy

If I'm a GM, I'd rather not pass on him, if I needed a QB. You could look like and idiot down the road either way.

JFF is a KID, that has had a camera stuck up his arce. Most of you should think about things you did at his age.
Maturity Matters!

As far as locker room, looks to me that he is AOKY with the rest of his team.

Passing will improve, he will find out that he is not invincible, and back off on some of those passes.
Real World Job vs 20 hours week of practice, does matter.

Scrambling, and elusiveness(not speed) he is unsurpassed. The X factor.
Reflexes, timing, speed are off the chart.

I'd say he goes in round 1!

This. He has all the tools. His picks are a result of him carrying the entire offense on his back.

People comparing him to Eric Crouch are dumber than a bag of rocks. No one is going to draft him at safety for God's sake.

His durability is the question. Just look at RG3 and the injury issues he's had for comparison.

BUY x 1000

Look at the recent success of Russell Wilson. Just one comparison. Just as fast and much quicker, just as strong an arm.
Also, no one gives him this much credit but JFF is real smart

Sell. Those big plays he's known for would probably never happen and NFL linebackers would keep him in check. I've heard some people try to compare him to R.Wilson, but I'm fairly certain Wilson is a smarter player with a much better arm.

Its also actually a little wobly sometimes. I think a lot of his plays where he scrambles and throws it downfield would be picked off in the NFL and he'd also get crushed by a linebacker. He'd have to learn to play within a system and not free lance too much or best case scenario is he ends up like Vick - who has a stronger arm.

He SHOULD NOT.

Too many issues that he gets away with in college that would either make him terrible in the NFL, or he will have to work on to change.

- When he runs, he palms the ball and just has it dangling out away from his body as he shifts and scrambles. Its on a tee for NFL guys to slap away.
- He has an arm, but damn at times he can really float a ball with the worst of em.
- He is like the Roadrunner in college- a dumb luck bird that for some reason cant be caught. In the NFL he will be caught. Caught and destroyed by TNT and Anvils coming from all over the place.

This is all assuming he doesnt change/isnt able to change his current approach to the game.

Sell on should. He probably will with someone. Should be a 2nd or third.

He would have the opportunity to do well in a system like Philly, carolina, washington, maybe San Fran but I don't see harbaugh taking him. I look at Russell Wilson and think he could make it work in the right system. Wilson is about his size. He is going to have trouble seeing over the LOS like breeze or wilson. Would be a bust in a passing offense, but read option offenses allow larger throwing windows.

This ^^ He is the next Mike Vick. And just like Vick, he's gonna be hurt a lot.

Cleveland will draft him if he's available. They make poorer draft choices than Denver. He'll have a good rookie season and fizzle out. Dude isn't good in the pocket at all. Although I bet Chip Kelly could do some crazy good stuff with him.

I actually like watching him play.

I just dont think he, in his current state, should be drafted in the 1st round.

He has a ton of things going for him- talent, winning experience, and swagger(your fav) to name a few.

But he just doesnt seem like a franchise QB.
