Mullen is following the Stansbury model and recruiting his *** off to get the best talent no matter what it takes. I don't know if Mullen will be a better coach than Stans, but it seems like their strategy with recruiting is the same. The odd thing is that if Mullen does what Stans has done in winning SEC West titles, he will be treated as a God. I know it is two different sports, but that would be a far different treatment than what Stans gets.

First of all, it's hard to judge Mullen on recruiting since not a single one of his recruits (or those he kept around that Croom landed) have played a down of college football yet. Also, he will need much, much better talent than Stansbury has been getting because the SEC is infinitely more competitive in football than basketball. Lastly, and to disclose my bias, I don't think Stansbury is near the quality recruiter that some give him credit for. He's good and has landed solid players that have developed, but now that players are forced to go to college, he can't seem to land a Bender, Outlaw, or Ellis.
