And I'll say this- yeah, their closer could have blown it to, but if I was a coach I'd rather have peace of mind that I made the higher percentage move than keeping a guy out there who probably isn't as accustomed to that situation- especially with it being such a big game.
That's the difference to me- It's a one run game and it's a SR game on the road. If you have a three run lead, and you have the a couple of LH batters coming up and you want to leave your LH pitcher in, that's not a bad move at all, to me. But when it's the ninth inning, one run lead, possible CWS berth on the line, I gotta go to my closer.
That's the closers job. You have to give him a chance to do it.
