Crooms will go back on his word and fire Woody in an attempt to save his own ***. Since it now looks like the resignation due to health reasons is off the table.

I say buy in that he tries and hopefully Byrne tells him too little too late.

....wins out in the end with most head coaches. And Crxxm has lied about several things already during his tenure, so it won't shock me if he gives in once again and replaces McCorvey.</p>

While I don't think Croom is going anywhere after this year, the only way he would go is if Byrne forces him to fire Woody and he refuses. I don't see that scenario playing out - Croom will try to save his own butt.

First of all, he is healthy. That's a big, big plus.

Second, it will allow us to fire Croom at the end of the year. No changes = no return for next year. He won't fire McCorvey AND he is not resigning due to health.

Woohoo! Best possible news I could have heard today! And yes, I'm serious. I really think that this is a really, really, good thing.

I think the 1.7M pay check will have Croom compromising his morals all the way to the bank. And we get stuck with him for at LEAST one more year. Hell, we might build a statue of him (like UM did with JV) if he wins one more bowlgame next year.
