With the massive meltdowns happening on and off the football field for OM, would you say they are experiencing as ****** a time as we did during the Croom Error?

I'm buying... the sky is definitely falling.

Yes, it is a pretty big meltdown over there, but this is only the first year of it. We expereinced several depressing years with Croom running the show. If this continues for 3 more years then I will change my mind.

Are you crazy? I doubt Nutt will ever go 2-10 or 3-9 three or four straight years. It may happen once they go 3-9 and that would be next year bc they may have no QB and Boise is going to wax them. Plus he runs an actual offense and utilizes his talent pretty well. His lack of QB and OL recruiting is starting to catch up to him. You can recruit all the WRs and RBs you want standing on the street corners in South Florida, but without a OL or descent QB, you won't do much in the SEC. Still not near as bad as Croom.

they've gota fewgood players, but all their really good ones are getting run off for being criminals, they are taking criminal transfers. they are facing depleted talent on the lines and a coach who is desperate and fans who are rabid because this is happening when they are coming off two of the most successful seasons in school history. very similar to sherrill 2001.

Crooms meltdown was just plain stupidity. He didnt recruit very well and he would never adapt to his players strengths. He was just a 17 moron. This is as stated above a Sherrill esk meltdown. UM may go 3-9 or 4-8 this year but there is enough talent for either Nutt or someone else to turn this thing around quickly at UM.

Except without the expectations. Any expectations we had this year were tempered for the most part, at least in comparison to what you had in 2001.

I still think your 2001 team was a pretty good football team, as evidenced by the way they played the Egg Bowl that year. We had a pretty good football team that year. Eli really played well most of that season, and we were a 7 OT loss and the Egg Bowl loss from playing in the SEC title game. I just feel like Sherrill lost the team that year when a couple close games went the other way early in the year. They came back together to play well in the Egg Bowl, but it was definitely the beginning of him losing control of the team and eventually creating quite a slide.

I do agree that if we start having that kind of in-fighting as well, then it does draw some similarities. I don't think we're there yet, and I still feel like a lot of our problems will take care of themselves when our youth grows up. If Nutt does lose the team though, I'd hope we'd be quick to react.

two cotton bowls to having a bad season with some off the field stupidity is nothing compared to the crooked hat. as pointed out already, this is much closer to a jackie type meltdown year. i think nutt finds a way to turn it around though. too bad jackie couldn't.

he does look like he is taking a huge crap like croom though. i'll give you that.

If we had your schedule and we were paying our coach what you are paying yours, I would be piss. I am buying! It is a meltdown and it's a meltdown that can only be stopped by firing Nutt. Nutt is the most over rated coach in the SEC. How in the hell can you come into a program, inherit the talent Nutt inherit and be this bad in your third year? He has driven your program down. You can only blame one person and that person is the person in charge.Hell go over to your board and you think that it's the fans fault for Ole Miss suxness. It's doesn't matter if you have 1 person or 100K people in the stand, you don't lose to a Div I A school with the talent you guys suposivily had. How many top 15 recruiting classes has your program had the in the past five years and all you have to show for it is a 2 and 2 record with loses to a Div I AA school and Vandy, that's ridiculous. Like I said and have been saying it for three years, Nutt is over rated, there was a reason why the majority of Arkansas fans wanted him gone. You blame it on them being wacked out fans, I think they saw the light and I hope you Ole Miss people take as long as Arkansas to see the light. Just think where you would be if Nutt inherited the program Mullen inherited. You guys would go 0 and 10. It's a major meltdown!

They're having a systemic program meltdown. But not because the coach doesn't know **** about college football. I'd say it looks more like the end of the Sherrill era than the Croom era.

A quick fall from some strong successes.
Off-field issues.
Defense falling apart.
Team underachieving.

First thing I thought about. Where were our two cotton bowls during the big dump?
