State and OM have same talent, if State had a competant HC we too would be celebrating an upset?

I say Buy, it pains me to watch the talent we have get used and abused by this **** for coaching staff.

Ole Miss is better at QB, WR, DL, Special teams.

RB was probably a wash until last night. OL probably a wash too, but OM may be a little better.

State doesn't have a McCluster type player. Well, not on offense, and if we did we wouldn't use him.

State is better at DB and I'm gonna say LB.

But I have no doubt that if we were completely equal, Ole Miss is WAY better coached.

Orgeron's classes were extremely overrated, etc. State just had more talent is what everyone said.

What has changed?

Now you've got more talent. Plus, you players are smarter than our players. Our players can barely be trusted to get to class.

Who that is currently getting a lot of playing time looks like a lock to at least get to an NFL camp barring injury? Not make a squad, because there are lots of variables there, but in camp with a team just months after being in Oxford or Starkville.

For us, I'll say we've got 5 defensive linemen (Powe, Jerry, Hardy, Laurent, Tillman) who will get into an NFL camp. Two LB's (Palmer and Fein). Not a single DB. On offense, Wallace and Hodge will make it to a camp, McCluster will get a shot to return kicks. Jason Cook will catch on somewhere. Bolden looks pretty special. If Romero Miller can carry a clipboard in pre-season, certainly Snead can. Oher, Jerry,Mo Williams on OL. That's a total of sixteen that I can think of with a realistic shot at this point.

That's the starters or guys that get alot of snaps. RS freshman and guys who are just now getting PT so it's hard to judge so guys like Trahan, Walker, etc for us are no go's.

I count sixteen using that criteria. What's y'alls objective number?

I think on the OL that Sherrod, Strauder, and Jenkins have a chance to as you say make it to an NFL camp, Dixon, and Ducre may both get a shot, and McRae at WR could as well. On D, Douglas, Wright, Love, and Bowman will get a shot, and I think Fitz, Peagus, and O'Qinn will get and invite. That is not counting Anthony Johnson who may be the best cover corner in the State but is sitting out this year, and Chaney who is hurt. Looking at it that gives us a possible 13 that could make it into an NFL camp. I will give OM the edge on LT.

The biggest difference in OM and State is coaching pure and simple.

OM has a better OL, DL, and QB.....and coach. All else looks equal. I thought last year in the Egg Bowl they looked just as talented as we did.

or better if any of them were the HC of our current team and had played the exact schedule. I don't think they lose to LaTech in the opening game. I think most of them win the Auburn game at home and most would have had a shot to win at LSU. Hell, Croom had us in the game in the 4th quarter. I have no idea about the talent comparison with UM.
