I say buy but not because of Osby's play (which has been terrible as a starter). I like having a scorer like Ravern come in with the second unit but have him start the second half like he did last night. Osby looks very uncomfortable as a starter for some reason.

Might as well let him get used to the idea of it. I still like the 3 forwards lineup. It makes us a much bigger team and gives us a lot more rebounding chances. Ravern seems to play better when he feels he has something to prove.

Osby looked terrible. Phil looked like the one-star recruit he was coming out of HS. Benock is useless. Lewis....where did he come from all of a sudden last night?

I guess the plus of having Osby in the starting lineup is, like you said, having an offensive threat on the second unit that we are going to put in the game en masse come hell or high water.

For the reason you mentioned - that way, we have an actual scorer who comes in with the second unit. Whether we are winning or trailing, it was always tough when we would bring the second unit in, because there were no go-to guys that could make plays on offense. It was like we could only hope that our second unit would hang in there and keep the game close.

I disagree, though, where you say Benock is useless. I think he is a solid role player. Not someone you want tohave playing lots of minutes, but he can play pretty good defense andrebounds well for a guard. And as he showed in the first half, he can knock down a shot if he's left open. The key, though, is that you need someone else creating offense, because he just isn't going to do that.

I'm also glad Stans decided to let Lewis play for a few minutes. I think he can provide a few solid minutes to spell Varnado, when we don't play Kodi at the 5. Some games, Kodi at the 5 will work. When it won't, give Lewis some time.

and didn't give up a point and grabbed a rebound. They went at him and he bellied up and played good defense.

He can give us 5 minutes.

Lewis came in and did the following:

Came flying down the lane on a break, took the pass and bashed it off the backboard. Stewart grabbed the rebound and scored.
On the ensuing Bama possession he got caught guarding Torrance at the top of the key, backed off of him and Torrance drained a three.
Then the next Bama possession Bost got beat off the dribble and Lewis was going to be late getting to the spot but Bost fouled Brock as the layup was converted

So Lewis's total was: 3 minutes, missed layup, given up three, and would have given up another deuce but Dee beat him too it.

Of course when you are playing your 14th, 15th and 16th minute of SEC basketball, you aren't going to be perfect.

its a pass you really don't want to make to a big running the floor, but Bost got lost. Im not bothered by it.

The confusion on the screen just gets me further upset about the way we switch on every screen. Lewis hedged and then started to get back, but we are willing to switch every screen. If we are teaching that, then yes, he needs to be switching there, but ideally good teams are going to avoid their bigs guarding the other team's best guards by hedging and not switching.

I didn't really see anything wrong with the layup by Brock. It was just a nice play.

Another bonus from Lewis is that he sets ball screens better than anyone on the team. They actually screen someone.

But as you mentioned, this is his 14-16 minutes..he'd probably be more comfortable if we hadn't pulled him off the bench out of nowhere lately. You can tell he's extremely tentative.
