I got to thinking the other night.... if 90% of the fanbase gets their wish and Stans is shown the door (one way or another) at the end of the 2012 season and AK does nothing special again and gets canned, would Stans be a top candidate at OM?
I think he would be a serious option for them and honestly as a State fan that would make me nervous. OM can't make another bad hire. Not that they did, AK just can't get it done there. In all likelihood OM will probably have a new arena within the next 5 years. And with the sudden obsession of "owning the state" Stans makes a lot of sense to them. Stans does own the state as far as basketball goes.
Ask any OM fan right now and they would trade our last 10 years for theirs. They might not think he's a better coach than AK, but the winning is there.
