I'll define 'convicted' as declared by the NCAA.

Of dubious constitutionality, but there are similar laws on the books for other professions.

remember, you'd have to commit a crime for this to apply. i'm not going to cry over the employment rights of unpunished criminals, and historically neither have the courts.

not sure about the bar. The practice of all medical fields is governed by state law and policed by a state board that is an arm of state government. Your liscence is issued by the state, not a private orginization.

..my understanding was that private doctors make up the 'state' board, not politicians or beurocrats, which blends the definitions of 'private' and 'state'. i'll take your word for it if that's not how it works.

sort of like how my cable company or utility has a monopoly granted by the state, but they're still a private company.
