Other than obvious special teams...I think it might be. To manage the game the way he did with a true freshman quarterback. We had just effective enough of a run game to keep it close to late in the 4th quarter. The defense just played absolute lights out. They gave up some slant patters, but hey they have some good WR. This defense is playing ridiculous right now, and every single one of them basically will be back. We're not losing any of our best players, let's just say that. Unless P. Smith leaves early. The ultimate call was to bring Dak in right after Damien made that mistake. Dak being ready to go and being effective as always. Dan also played to win, by going for it on 4th and 10 and then on the goal line down there on 4th and 2 with the game on the line he ran it behind his best player in Gabe Jackson with his best runner in Dak. Hell, we even made an adjustment to the stop the NKiemdiche run...that cute little package they designed for Robert. We stuffed it earlier and when they tried it again, when it was man on man, our D sent his punk as backwards. Chris Jones I believe tackled him if I'm not mistaken on the first stuff of him.

Only bad thing, other than ST, was use of personnel, and by personnel I mean his use of Perkins. Get this, Perkins had 14 freakin' touches and had a grand total of 12 total yards. He did take a big loss on an option pitch he received. J-Rob had 7 touches (all rushes) 38 yards and a TD. I think Dan is only playing Perk bc he's a senior and that's not fair to the rest of the team. He should be our second or third down back, or just come in and use him on third downs or for certain plays. We have a stable of backs. We need to use them like LSU uses theirs. That's the model we should be after.

Anyway, stuff to think about. I think it was his best coached game. Either this one or the 2009 Egg Bowl.

Sell.

He did a good job, but not his best since arriving.

Collins is in the middle of his best stretch in his career as a DC though

Uh, sell. The best games he's coached were against Ole Miss in 2009, Michigan in the Gator and two games this year; one against Troy, which the MSU won, and one against Texas A&M, which MSU lost. The Bulldogs won this game becaause we had a bunch of players who went out and hit the other team in the mouth. I give a lot of credit to Collins for his part, but mainly the guys just played hard and took it to them. Maybe they were tired of a year of trash talking and tweets from the players at the "Flagship University" in the state of Mississippi.....

At first I thought of that game, but that Michigan team was really bad. They had a good offense, but their defense was historically bad and it showed. They weren't prepared or mentally tough. They quit playing right when we started kicking their ***. That Ole Miss team we just beat is pretty good. They dominated Texas at their place and beat LSU. Should have beaten TAMU too. Last night was a quality win and dominating D on a pretty good offense.

Fire sell. Plus, you're saying Dan is a defensive genius. Dan and genius do not belong in the same sentence.

Sell. The game against Florida in 2010 was won by coaching. I don't know of many coaches with the balls to rush on every down during a half. That's also the last time I can think of Mullen making a halftime adjustment based on the outcome of the first.

There were a couple times last night I questioned the play-calling. Williams threw the ball 3 straight times at one point, and there were only a few times he drew up a designed running play for the QB.

I'm pleased with the coaching from last night, but it wasn't his best. I don't know that it would be top 3.
