Other than obvious special teams...I think it might be. To manage the game the way he did with a true freshman quarterback. We had just effective enough of a run game to keep it close to late in the 4th quarter. The defense just played absolute lights out. They gave up some slant patters, but hey they have some good WR. This defense is playing ridiculous right now, and every single one of them basically will be back. We're not losing any of our best players, let's just say that. Unless P. Smith leaves early. The ultimate call was to bring Dak in right after Damien made that mistake. Dak being ready to go and being effective as always. Dan also played to win, by going for it on 4th and 10 and then on the goal line down there on 4th and 2 with the game on the line he ran it behind his best player in Gabe Jackson with his best runner in Dak. Hell, we even made an adjustment to the stop the NKiemdiche run...that cute little package they designed for Robert. We stuffed it earlier and when they tried it again, when it was man on man, our D sent his punk as backwards. Chris Jones I believe tackled him if I'm not mistaken on the first stuff of him.
Only bad thing, other than ST, was use of personnel, and by personnel I mean his use of Perkins. Get this, Perkins had 14 freakin' touches and had a grand total of 12 total yards. He did take a big loss on an option pitch he received. J-Rob had 7 touches (all rushes) 38 yards and a TD. I think Dan is only playing Perk bc he's a senior and that's not fair to the rest of the team. He should be our second or third down back, or just come in and use him on third downs or for certain plays. We have a stable of backs. We need to use them like LSU uses theirs. That's the model we should be after.
Anyway, stuff to think about. I think it was his best coached game. Either this one or the 2009 Egg Bowl.
