will be a 'play in' game for both schools if:

- we beat Tennessee Saturday
- they lose to Kentucky Saturday (which would be 3 straight losses)
- they beat Alabama on Thursday of the SECT

but I think it would most likely be a play-out game given your scenario, meaning loser is NIT bound for sure.

I don't think either team could survive a loss in that game and still get a bid, assuming Florida loses to UK. Of course, Florida would have to beat Bama to get there, which you would assume, but isn't a given. I believe Auburn holds the tiebreaker over Bama even with a loss to Bama on Saturday, so Auburn will be the 4 seed at worst, and Bama will definitely be the 5 seed.

gotta win 2 in the tourney. I doubt there is a bubble team out there with 5 losses to teams outside the top 100. And if they are out there, their SOS is probably nowhere near as bad as ours. And they probably have at least 3 top 50 wins. We have to separate ourselves.

And I know no one wants to hear this, but the committee is not going to value SEC tourney games as much.

The committee is going to have most of their work done before the semi-finals of the SECT even take place.

I think we have to beat Tennessee and get to Saturday to have a shot, and get to Sunday to have a decent shot.

Washington has 4 sub-100 losses, Notre Dame has 3. No other bubble team has more than 2 while we sit with 5.

Washington's SOS is 55th, ND's is 56th. Ours is 113th. In fact, of legitimate bubble teams, only Virginia Tech has a worse SOS than we do.

after looking around at other teams this morning, I think we have to make the Tourney final to get in.

It's going to take 3 quality wins over East teams to get us in...we also don't need Bammer upsetting Fla in the tourney either

We are basically down to a sudden death scenario for getting into the tourney. Next loss sends us to the NIT.

ETA: Unless of course we lose to UT and win the SEC tourney, which ain't happening.
