I'm going with a buy. Diaz will make sure we shut out at least one of the weaker teams we play.

Edit: Sorry for the non-Masoli Buy/Sell.

Definitely not shutting out any SEC teams. Definitely not shutting out Houston.

That leaves Memphis, UAB, and Alcorn. We'll probably have some communication problems during the Memphis game seeing that it is the 1st game under a new defensive staff. We'll give up one or two big plays and likely a few points. We'll put the third string in for Alcorn. I doubt we try to shut them out - that would wrong. We don't compete with Alcorn for athletes so there's no reason to flex any muscle on them. They will get a FG or two.

UAB? They lost Joe Webb so who knows what they will be like on offense? He accounted for 32 TDs. He was their offense...all of it. That game will be coming off a 2 game road trip and the Florida game. We likely will be tired and start off sluggish and give up a few points in the first half. I don't see that one being a shutout either.

I think it's been over 10 years since our last shutout (on defense). I doubt it will happen this year. Maybe next year...

Alcorn lost to USM 52-0 and Central Michigan 48-0 last season. And they only scored 14 against Jackson State. I think we've got a chance for a shutout there. Too bad Vandy isn't on the schedule or we'd have a chance for an SEC shutout.

I like our chances this year of pulling it off better than teams in years past. I have no clue how good Diaz will be. He can't be worse than Torbush.
