I'm still not convinced Polk actually gives a **** about the players and not just his own ego.</p>

As much as I don't like Polk, I do believe he really does care for those boys. But I think he knows many of them are going to have to be run off and has enough loyalty to Cohen that he might not stab him in the back when he does what has to be done.

because Polk now knows that if he wants MSU to have anything to do with him, he is going to have to watch his mouth.

It's already starting- First he would rip Byrne, and now when he is asked about GB, he has "no comment".

And he will want to come back. I can't see him staying at UAB with their lack of commitment to baseball, even if it is as a volunteer assistant. His ego is too big. He needs to have it stroked, and it's just not going to happen there. Polk's not going to burn the bridge with the only place in the world that will stroke it.

He does probably need some time to get over this. And he probably does need to be away for a little while. I don't think this will be like the NCAA for him. He has already forgiven Cohen, although Cohen being one "of his boys" probably made it easier for him.

I don't think he will say anything about anyone on the team being cut, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did say something. It probably depends on who gets cut and how much he liked that player. One reason why Polk supposedly retired was so that he wouldn't have to cut anyone, but at the same time, he mentioned that he knew that Raffo would. I'm not sure that there would be a difference between Raffo and Cohen cutting someone, but in his head, you never know.
