Lee and/or Carroll can be serviceable QB's over the next couple of years with good coaches while we red shirt Russell.

I am buying. If we can bring in a decent offensive coach I think they could do something that go with the strengths of either of these QBs. There is no reason we should have to play Russell next year

If we get one of the good ones being rumored then I'll buy. Even if we drop down to Dooley They couldn't do any worse.

Joe Montana would struggle trying to operate behind our line. Lee looks like he has more potential than Carroll when he isn't running for his life.

I think a good coach can come in and put Tyson Lee to good use as a starter (especially if he still needs to scramble for his life). I have a lesser feeling about Carroll but still buy.

I surely hope that we reached rock bottom with our offensive line last year. Our running backs should be a great asset, but we'll see. (Dixon, Ducre, Stallworth, Elliott, Conner)

Sell....Russell needs to start ASAP. With a good coach, (and a hint of an O line) he'll run circles around those two.

Neah we need to red shirt him and let Lee andc Carroll see if they can take it next year. I have a hard time thinking a decent creative staff couldnt do something with either of them

Lee could be serviceable in the right situation. If he's in a precision passing offense, working out of the shotgun, he would do a good enough job. Carroll, not so much.

A retard on Gene's Page actually said that State will only have two pro prospects on the roster next year....Carroll and Tay Bowser. I couldn't make this up if I tried.

None of this matters, though. If Tyler Russell comes, I believe he will start next year.

Maybe so, but I'm ready to see Russell in Maroon and white and throwing touchdowns. He already looks like a seasoned college QB.</p>

I always felt bad for Fant. I really do think he could've been a decent SEC QB, maybe a Romaro Miller/John Parker Wilson level of good, but he never had a chance. That guy spent more time getting hit. Just curious though, how would you compare your current O-line to the sieve you had blocking for Fant.

I can't believe Coach34 let you off of your leash long enough to come make a post on your own

Fant's lines were hands down the worst I've ever seen. It's the only time I've seen a QB get hit after 2.5 steps of his drop that was from legitimate pressure and not a blown assignment. Lee and Carroll had time to throw much more often than Fant ever did.

I think we get better, by default, because of the coaching change. But that's just saying the **** won't stink as bad.

I don't know coach34 and this could be the worst BUY/SELL ever..

No way Lee or Carroll start over Tyler...
We might be better off with another walk-on than those two...

Have you been to a game this year or sen one on TV..
Get real, neither is an SEC QB...

Surprises the hell out of me, the way you follow him around kissing his *** all of the time. And I have seen plenty of games this year, I never said would either be all SEC. I said would either be serviceable with a decent staff. Little bit of a difference there dumb ****. Lee wasnt a bad QB this season, or at least not as bad as you are saying he was

...Carroll actually won in 2007 & Lee shows promise.

Who knows what these guys can accomplish with elevated position coaching.

yeah i really dont know why people are putting lee in the same category as carroll... he is head and shoulders above carroll, also lee's arm strength is more than adequate, his height it is the only knock but it is a huge problem.... carroll cant throw it 20 yards

This <17>ing offensive line sucks so bad, we shouldn't put Tyler Russell out there until he has a good one. Kevin Fant is case in point!

He physically looks like the best QB of the 3. What was holding him back - learning the "west coast offense" or actually making the throws?

I'd hate to waste TR next year, especially considering our top returning receiver may be....... uh.... our running backs?? (Stallworth or Dixon??) unless McRae can get back up to speed by the fall (which I would think is doubtful considering that injury).

If a new coach don't bring an o-line with him I just don't see a reason not to redshirt Russell if he comes. Lee can be servicable, hell he did more this year than I ever imagined considering the line play and him being a walk-on.

Outside of Sherrod, Brignone and the two redshirt freshmen Smith and Hardy what do we have that resembles o-linemen?

I don't doubt Russell would be better than the other 3 qb's next year, but why the hell would you Arceto him next year if we haven't an o-line?

Both Carroll and Lee could be decent quarterbacks for us. It showed last year when Carroll came in from high school and was as good as he was. But after one season with Croom and his bunch they ruined him. For some odd reason it seems like the longer qb's were with Croom the worse they got. But since Carroll will only be a junior there is still time for another set of coaches to turn him around, it might be too late for Lee. Russell has the potential to be better than both of them but to me it would be smarter to redshirt him.. but thats just me

our O line was our biggest problem all year. There is one player on that line with SEC talent. Recordsacku
