SEC Tournament Champs is not SEC Champs, and it never will be.

They are two different titles. One takes one weekend of good play. One takes an entire season of good play.

I then made the analogy to us winning all of our close games in 2007 as another example of a trend that is impossible to continue for the long-term. Just as we didn't continue to win all of our close games in 2008, you will not continue to convert all of your fake punts / fake FGs / etc. in 2009.

I'd say that having Dex throw a pass out of the formation is pretty close to a trick play. And when he threw one against Bama, leading to a Bama TD in a 4 point win, and he threw one against Wake, leading to a Wake score in a 2 point win, it's noteworthy.

I don't think there was any other trick play that was instrumental in any of our wins last year. We got a cheap TD on a fake FG vs. Bama that kept us in the ball game. The reverse @ LSU on which we scored happened when we were already in the red zone and had a lead already. Trick plays weren't why we won nine games last year.

Again, read my post. I never said that trick keys were the reason you won 9 games in 2008. But failures on these plays in 2009 (and there will be failures) could very well be instrumental in a key loss or two.

it's done with the assumption that it's going to fool the defense. I understand what you're saying, but running a reverse is no more a trick play than snapping the ball to a RB and having him throw a pass.

Ole Miss was good last year, I don't give a **** how many trick plays they ran. 9-4 is 9-4, that's how they'll be remembered, with a beatdown of LSU, us and Tx Tech. Get over it, oh yeah, they beat the National Champs, no matter how they did it, they DID do it, it's over.

And for you Rebel fvcks who thinks I just conceded to you, I think the exact same thing about our '07 team. We won 8 games and they will ALWAYS be in the win column, no matter we lucked into them or how Croom almost screwed them up.

Just like you said about us last year, win the games this year and it'll prove you're a great team worthy of being praised. Win the games when you have a bullseye on your back is how you get respect.

Didn't say you sucked the rest of the year. You did finish 3rd in the West right? And that's not too bad.

My point was that you can't call the SEC Tournament Championship the SEC Championship, because it's not. They are two different titles, and that goes for all sports. It's obviously more difficult to win the SEC Championship than the Tournament Championship, though you should be happy to win either.

And don't give me that "ultimately counted" BS. "We won when it counted" is a joke. All of the games count (both tourney and regular season). If you had won more in the regular season (when it also counted), you wouldn't have needed to win the SEC tourney to get the NCAA bid. LSU didn't need to win the SEC tourney because they won when it counted, in the regular season. They all count. If you go 13-3 in the regular season as LSU did, you won when it counted to win the SEC title.

Buy. I'd buy us going to a final 4 this year over them winning the west this year. not necessarily an indication of how bad UM will be, butof how good LSU & Bama will be.

Both Bama and LSU lost more from their 2008 teams than we did, but that obviously doesn't matter.
