i'll agree that you're football and baseball teams are better than ours, currently. however, to even suggest that the basketball teams are even in the same neighborhood is a joke. give me a break.

Or I didn't write it clear. I was saying that your basketball program is way ahead of ours right now. Anyway, how about seeing if y'all can let us just win one this weekend. *** whipping.

Backer, if you'll remember, you didn't look like Omaha material in 2007 at about this point. You were in the middle of a skid where you were losing something like 9 of your last 11 SEC games to take you from a potential national seed to a 2 seed traveling. Then you won 5 straight to get to Omaha.

Point being, the tournament is a whole different animal. I've seen teams of ours that looked really good at this point that choked. 2004 comes to mind. We were 18-10 with 2 games to play in the regular season having won 4 straight SEC games. Then we lost our last two conference games, lost 2 straight in Hoover, and went 0-2 in our own regional to finish off an 0-6 slide to end the season.

Then you look at a team like yours from 2007 that stumbled to the postseason only to get hot and make it to Omaha. If Bittle comes back next week at 100%, we've got as good a shot as anyone at getting hot and making a postseason run. The games we're playing right now are strictly for seeding purposes and where we'll be placed in the brackets.

we had a lot of injuries to- like Brandon Turner- but other than that skid, that team played pretty well overall throughout the year, and had some pretty good talent on it in terms of position players. The pitching wasn't that great aside from Weatherford and Moreland.

When the Regionals came around, we were healthy.
