but if a SWAC school ever were going to make a run like that - it will be in baseball. Southern U. was one decent bullpen pitcher away from knocking LSU out in the first round.

I'm convinced that there have been teams at Valley/Southern U. that could have won the regional we won at Ohio State. OSU was horrible. Delaware was horrible. Kent State was horrible. However the Super Regional was impossible at Fullerton.

not SWAC I know, but they're from the other historically black conference, the MEAC. They've done a good job getting white and Hispanic players in addition to black ones. Their ace dominated #1 Miami for 7 innings last year (or was it 2 years ago?) before finally running out of gas. If they could ever grab two aces at once, and a reasonably competent bullpen, they could possibly pull an upset.

Hell Bianco would throw that ace for two wins in a regional (and hope to pick up the other W) and maybe even two in a super if he started the 1st game.
