If Mullen could have gone back, he would have signed a juco QB to play over Lee regardless of anything.

He is not very happy at all with Lee... Especially if he would have known how terrible Lee is at holding on to the ball!

B/c last year he was adequate in the passing game. Not good but not nearly as bad as he's been this year.

Signing day is in February. Spring practice started after the fact. It's too late to go get a new quarterback if you find out the one you have in spring practice is no good.

Sure wonder if he wishes he had played Stegall about week 6 or 7.... after he had some level of development.
No way he could reasonably play him after about then.
I think he would have liked to have the option...today.
Actually wished he had any other viable option but Lee or Relf.

but we all have to remember that we also had Carroll on the roster when Mullen first came on board, and he either transferred very close to signing day or after signing day- I can't remember- but it was at a point where we would have had a really hard time finding someone and had filled all of our scholarships.

And I'm not saying that Wes Carroll would have necessarily been the answer, but there's no doubt in my mind that we would have been at least a little bit deeper and experienced.

People can bash Carroll all they want, but he had shown that he could manage a game, and based on his LB perfromance, I think he could have run the spread decently well. He only struggled after Croom brought in Lee and all of a sudden had this open QB competition for no reason, and after he was told to not use his legs as much. Even in the year that Carroll was benched, he only had one less TD pass than Lee has no over basically an entire season.

He was a good passer except on deep balls. He could stand in the pocket, see the field, and step up in the pocket. That alone puts him head & shoulders, literally, above MiniLee.

He held this stare for a solid 4 or 5 seconds. Tyson couldn't even look at Mullen.

Somebody with some farking skills could probably turn that into something. Reminds me of the "***** stole my fish" fark for some reason. "***** owes me 3 points" would be funny. There's already a short black kid in the picture.

I also know it was a mistake committing to Tyson Lee as our starter and if Mullen had it all to do over again he would have come up with a plan B sometime before the season started.

He transferred because he saw the writing on the wall. I can't imagine that Carroll would have transferred to FIU if he thought for a second that he'd be able to be a starting QB in the SEC.</p>
