If you come into a save situation, blow it and give up the lead, then your team comes from behind to win, the win should revert back to the previous pitcher. Girodo got one of the cheapest wins I've ever seen. Of course, some of the blame goes to Cohen for even bringing him into the game at all in that situation. But Pollorena got robbed of a win tonight.

All in all though, great andvery guttywin by the Bulldogs. Only real downside is that Reed won't be available tomorrow, but he should be on Saturday.

In other words, I thought Reed got the win.


The fact Girodo got the win is ridiculous.

Everyone knows that Wins and Losses are horrible ways to evaluate pitching performance anyway. The stats should just be abolished. Same for Saves.

why not make them better? Give Pollorena the win. Also, tighten up the rules for getting a save. Make the tying run have to be at least at the plate to get a save. In other words, Reed doesn't deserve a save tonight. He's lucky not to take the loss with the terrible 9th he pitched. At least he gutted it out in the end though.

I would have guessed Reed. I mean, we retook the lead in the top 8th right? He took the hill in the 8th. How in the hell does Girodo get any decision at all? <div>

while Girodo was still the pitcher. So Girodo gets the win. I understand that Pollorena doesn't get the win under the rules. I'm just saying that he should get the win because Girodo definitely doesn't deserve it and Reed entered the game with a lead, so he can't deserve it (hell, we got outscored 0-1 while he was in the game). So I'm saying change the rules and give the win to Pollorena. He's really the only pitcher we threw who had a good game. Don't get me wrong, Reed has had a fantastic season and he dida great job of getting out of a huge jam in the 9th. But he's the one who put himself in the jam by inexcusably not throwing strikes in that situation and he entered the game with a 2-run lead and nobody on base.

Tell me how good a pitcher's team is. Look at Felix Hernandez last year. He went 13-12 and won the Cy Young.

Although, Steve Carlton in 1972- he pitched for a horrible Phillies team and won 27 games which was something like almost half of the games his team won that year. So, I guess there is something in certain contexts.

Sell. I like the rule as it is. Once the lead is negated the pitcher no longer in the game is not a deciding factor. Wins and losses need to be applied to the responsible pitcher.

If you want to change something then change the minimum inning requirement for starters. That rule I don't like. It's not right that a relief pitcher can get a win and record only 1 out but a starter has to go 5.5 innings before he's eligible for the win. The starter can be pinned with a loss regardless of how many inning he pitches.
