even if they beat Houston, they would have to leapfrog Boise State, and for that to happen, Boise would have to lose at least another game.

I also think that the BCS would take another PAC-12, ACC or Big 12 at-large team over them as well.

they are ranked in the top 12<div>OR</div><div>they are ranked in the top 16 and are higher than an AQ conference champion</div><div>
</div><div>This is for non-AQ conference champions only, so this won't apply to Boise State unless TCU loses twice.</div><div>
</div><div>Southern is ranked #20 in this week's BCS standings. If they end up 12-1 with a win, it's possible they'll end up #16 and will be higher than whoever wins the Big East.</div><div>
</div><div>TCU is #19 in this week's rankings, with games against Colorado State and New Mexico (no chance to impress the voters), so there's a good chance TCU would get leapfrogged by a 12-1 Southern Miss.</div>

If they call that an inside track.

They have played about 65% of our schedule, but have a chance to get to a BCS Bowl...
Even then, they may not make it.
Oh, Well!

Houston has been projected to the Sugar, and against Bama.

Due to the weird rules of the BCS that not many people know (except QuaoarsKing), if USM wins out and beats Houston, they are most likely in a BCS game. Of course, they will have to win out first.

The one way they may not make it but still win out...
If they win out, and Tulsa beats Houston, then USM will play Tulsa in the CUSA championship game. If that happens, then they probably won't have enough to jump TCU.

Houston wins out and USM wins out. USM beats Houston in the championship game, they get the Sugar Bowl if they are rated higher than TCU in the final BCS poll. Since TCU has no chance to beat a team rated as high as Houston, USM should jump them, but that would be the wild card. While a long shot, it could very well happen.

I have some questions about Symphony no. 5 in C minor. Beethoven uses a suspended 7th on the second stanza. Are there any other options when playing this piece in the suspended C minor to grab a happier sound? It's so distorted to me but I feel like if that's the purpose of the piece I should stick with it. Hell, I don't know

Who expounded the same germanic scenario I'd already read here and elsewhere.

Without going analytical about how Beethoven may have tweaked it?

Crap, the guy was deaf and still composed awesomely.
Perhaps he introduced the suspended 7th intentionally.

Today, in another life, he might have been one hell of a football coach.
Perhaps at USM, where my mother was a classical piano student.

Can you imagine USM playing Alabama? It would be a blood bath. Not that I can say much, but that would not be good to watch on TV for a BCS game.

The fact that USM, with that schedule, has any shot at a BCS game is laughable. They lost to MARSHALL and nearly lost to La. Tech, Virginia, and Central Florida. They would be lucky to go 3-5 in SEC play.

To be honest with you, Houston has no business playing in a BCS game this year either. They squeaked by a bad UCLA team, won by 1 against La. Tech, and barely beat UTEP. Some of the past Boise, TCU, and Utah teams deserved to play in a BCS game. Houston and USM are both not nearly good enough to deserve a BCS bid. They wouldn't get that type of bowl bid on merit, only because the rules call for it, for "equality" purpose.

as dominant Georgia team in the Sugar Bowl. I don't recall the score, but it was a severe *** beating.

and I think that Hawaii team was better than either USM or Houston. That Georgia team was playing great football, but they weren't as good as this Alabama team. It would get ugly.

to force the BCS powers that be to change the rules this offseason. Something along the lines of...

The top non-AQ conference champ will go to a BCS game if* they are either ranked in the top 12 OR if** they are ranked in the top 16 and are higher than an AQ conference champion

* - Unless you play in CUSA
** - Unless you have less than 11 fans

at best they would be a 7-4 team in the SEC but they will beat you because you would be a 5-7 team in the SEC with a win over Ole Miss. That is all!</p>

As of now, the winner of Houston/USM would play Bama in the Sugar Bowl. I doubt either of them would get more than 200 yards offense in that game and I'm being generous. It would make the UGA-Hawaii beatdown look competitive. The other scenario is that they'd play LSU if they lose to Arkansas or Georgia. I don't think that would be quite as bad, but still about like the UGA-Hawaii game.

Most new people get that mixed up as well. See, nobody cares about southern miss on this board. This is a sports board that specializes in discussion on BCS scenarios and crazy predictions and all things sports related. Southern is only talked about in one thread because they have an inside shot at making a bowl game that they really don't deserve to be in the same breath in. I'd call that a crazy scenario but one that Southern will inevitably screw up when they lose to UAB tonight.<div>

The only way to the Sugar Bowl is for an 11-1 USM to beat a 12-0 Houston in the CUSA title game. Tulsa wins, it's over.

Do you not think it ironic that you're posting about MSU obsessing over USM while you- a USM fan- are on an MSU message board?

Quite as bad? You do realize that the Sugar Bowl is in New Orleans and it's pretty much like playing at Death Valley.. the only difference is that LSU fans can go to a bar before the game and the LSU's defense wouldn't have hit anybody on an opposing team in about a month... USM will crap their pants at the sound of the first whistle. It would be TWICE AS BAD!
