have the largest lead of any divison leader. The question is now..."Who will they meet in the first round?" It will be a tough matchup. Philly, LA, SF, or Colorado.

I DO NOT want San Fran with that pitching staff, only a couple games out of the best record in all of baseball

Whoever they face in the first round is going to be down 0-2. Carpenter and Wainwright may be the best 1-2 punch in the majors.

Wainwright has gone well over 100 pitches in quite a few of his starts lately. He needs some rest. Same thing with Carpenter.

that was the dumbest statement I have read in a while

Carpenter & Wainwright
29-10 2.35 ERA

Zambrano & Dempster
14-12 3.95 ERA

Since July 3rd, The Cardinals are 27-3 in games started by Carpenter, Wainwright, and Pineiro. That bodes well for the playoffs.

You did. I am a huge Cub homer and don't miss an opportunity to downgrade the Cards. Anyone with two eyes and a half a brain know Carpenter and Wainright have been lights out. I even had trouble picking which two Cub starters to dangle out there. Z and Lilly? Lilly and Harden? Dempster and Wells? Z and Wells? The Cubs are so deep that it was difficult to pick. Sort of like the Braves in the 90s with Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz and Avery/Neagle. The Cubs are THAT loaded.
