While looking at the SEC helmet schedule I noticed how badly the bye weeks are scheduled and I think may give some teams a better advantage. UK and A&M have their two bye weeks in a 5 week period, Arkansas, MSU, and Vandy have theirs in a 4 week period, and USCe and LSU have their two bye weeks in a 3 week period. USCe also plays 10 games in a row and Alabama has their first bye the 2nd week of the season. I would think it would be possible to give each team one bye the first half of the season and one the second half of the season. Playing that many games in a row makes it harder for teams to get some injuries taken care of (and may increase the chance of additional and more severe injuries) and therefore not allow them the best chance to be competitive.
