As for scheduling, Byrne couldn't announce any specifics, but he did say that the school is nearing an announcement of an addition to future football schedules. Out of respect to the other university, he said he did not want to speak about any specifics at the moment and until the two schools reach an agreement on when it should be announced.</p>

"We cannot say with who yet, but we have reached an agreement," Byrne said. "Everybody knows about the South Alabama two-for-one series. We are trying to be regionally based with our scheduling, so that our fans will have easy access to those games, as they try to make those games."</p>

the idea that it is USM from this. If it is, there's no way those buzzard's could keep it quiet without it leaking out.

...the disdain for playing them. I mean, all things considered, we don't gain much from a recruiting standpoint by playing them. But let's face facts: Southern is not the football program they were even five years ago. They have been mediocre to decent in Conference USA. To me, they're just another team in a ****** conference that we should beat every time we line up. Now, I wouldn't want any part of them if Croom were still here because he has made losing to C-USA schools an art form, but with him out of here, I don't have a problem with it.

Plus, after we whip that *** real good, they won't have anything else to ***** about to us. They can focus all their efforts on crying that Ole Miss is scared to play them.

many times. The number one problem is that they aren't a gimme and it would be their biggest game of the year. We play alabama or lsu the next weekend and they go play tulane or uab. They win and they use it for recruiting against us (plus all of us unfortunate ******** who live in hattiesburg have to endure them). If we play in hattiesburg, they will make it a huge pain in the *** for State fans. They will damn near strip search anyone in maroon looking for cowbells, liquor, anything else to be a pain in our ***. It will help prop up their budget. Talent on the field, especially at positions like db are pretty close to equal b/c we have to try and recruit the same players other SEC teams recruit in order to compete. Unfortunately, we usually miss out on our top targets and have to go with players down the board who aren't 4 and 5 star corners. I'm tired of listing the reasons. I just think it is stupid for us to play them. If we had the fan base and money of florida or lsu, I say play them. But we don't, we have our own struggles right now without trying to help them with their's.

done in the same way that the Jackson St. game is. Capitalize on all of the offseason excitement for both teams and sellout.

I agree also that the 2 for 1 is a good deal out of it. I hope that is the plan. I would imagine you could ask for a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 easily. USM is in no place to make demands and they've wanted this game for so long, I imagine they'd be willing to do that to get in the door and then work to 2 for1 and then home and home.
