I for one do. He's done his job in 5 months to begin to fix what Templeton screwed up in 20 years.

Un<17'n>believable!

We just hired the top coordinator in the nation. This, my friends, is comparable to Norm Chow when he was on top.

Let Cohen and Mullen produce first, THEN think about putting more money into Byrne's wallet. Please don't forget the mistake we made by agreeing to more tuna for the walrus only to turn around and change our minds months later.

In 5 months, the guy hired John Cohen, one of the top college baseball coaches in America. He did it despite Ron Polk's death threats. After that, he had to clean up LT droppings by giving extensions to the Walrus and Stans. (Way to go, yet again, LT). Remember this, dgsmith, he didn't hire Croom either(but he damn sure fired him-whoohoo). He then upgrades our scoreboard and gets it done before this season is over. He has the new basketball facility underway. He basically gives Croom the heave/ho (thank you) and did it with utter respect and class. He now has gone out and hired the best offensive coordinator in the nation.

Can somebody please explain to me why we would want to wait to see if these coaches pan out? With the way Byrne works, they will have to pan out or be shown the door. He's not going to be like LT and do whatever Sherrill tells him because he's afraid of him. Just imagine what Byrne will do within 2 years. I state on this site that our program will be light years ahead in 2 years from today and we will be going to a decent bowl game.

Guys we just got us a guy with twice the Saban work ethic. "Naturally caffeinated".</p>

I'm not trying to put a damper on the outstanding job Byrne has done in his few months at the reigns of the athletic department. I'm only saying that it seems very irrational and premature to start showering him with praise and glory until some of these decisions he has made actually materialize into the results that they were intended to elicit. Additionally, I am in no way implying that I'm skeptical of either of these coaching hires and how these guys will perform at MSU. I know Greg Byrne will not be a cancer to MSU athletics like LT was while he was here and for that I am extremely happy.

Wait...I thought Wilson was the top coordinator in the nation, or was that just yesterday?

Kidding aside, good hire. I'll be curious to see how he adapts.
