If this kid decides to go to UNC over UK, it's more of a sign of how short-sighted this kid and his handlers are than a "big blow" to UK and Coach Pope's staff.

The ONLY reason we were the leader is because our NIL offer was higher. He had a long time relationship with Davis and been attending their practices before CMP was ever hired . If this was before the NIL he probably would have committed to UNC midway through his Junior year . All UNC needed to do was make a comparable NIL offer and guarantee him shots . It’s being reported that they have done both.

I'm skeptical due his size. Yeah he's 6'11 but is very thin. I saw him play early in the year and although he has nice touch around the basket, he got pushed around by a 6'7" player much stronger.

Why ? When is the last time a team won a championship that had a top 5 guy ? Pretty sure you have to go back a LONG way to find one .Castle wasn’t consensus top 10 and he’s the only top 30 guy Hurley has signed since he’s been there . Wilson wasn’t top 5 anyway.

Last time I checked we beat a lot of big time schools for Lewis he even spurned UConn to come play for Pope next year! Last time I also checked he wasn’t from Kentucky and he’s a big time recruit.
Yes pope is doing well with what he has and what he has is something different than we are used to. But what we have to remind ourselves is pope and his staff have put a LOT of time and resources into this recruitment. So clearly he thinks Wilson is a big get and a big need. If we are gonna trust the head man we have to fully trust him. It’s ok to be let down if wilson slips away
Agreed. I think it can both be true that Pope values him and that isn’t a big deal to miss.
All true. That’s why I’ve always said, “if CMP wants him , I want him” . Even though I thought a 4 man that was at least a threat as a three point shooter was a better fit .
