Penn State Releases Wrestling Coach Cael Sanderson's Salary
Sanderson made just over $1 million for the 2023-24 fiscal year, according to Penn State's most recent Right-to-Know Law report.
Based on the latest financials, we're already taking a ~2 million dollar loss on the program, and he's got one of the top 2 salaries in a relatively small Olympic sport (at the National level). Wouldn't make sense to me to bid against ourselves and pay him more.Very underpaid. Pay the man.
Iowa would pay twice that to get himBased on the latest financials, we're already taking a ~2 million dollar loss on the program, and he's got one of the top 2 salaries in a relatively small Olympic sport (at the National level). Wouldn't make sense to me to bid against ourselves and pay him more.
I'd think that the Men's Basketball coach is the 2nd highest salaried employee at most of our peers. He's middle of the pack for Big Ten coaches, and will likely keep sliding down with each new contract for those below him. What surprised me was Rhodes have the 2nd highest salary!! PSU should ask for money back due to the lousy ROI they are getting.
