I neither like nor dislike Caitlin Clark. That's actually an improvement. I was pretty anti-Clark when she was in college b/c of all the "She's better than Pistol Pete" kind of nonsense. The fact that everyone in the WNBA hates her so much moved the needle from dislike to neutral. It's kind of a bonkers stat. Not just the most ever. The most of every player who has ever played, combined.

I think the ?NBA (love that by the way and will be using it from now on!) feels handcuffed. She is, hands down, the most popular player in the league. Still not sure of any other players for which hosting teams have to move to larger venues when they come to town. She's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than Angel Reese, but somehow Reese got the cover of the ?NBA video game. Nobody shows up to watch Reese play. When Clark came to town, they nearly tripled their attendance and had to get a larger arena.

BUT, Clark does not check the demographic boxes the ?NBA wants to promote. It's a dilemma for them.

That's hilarious. Just shows you what that can do to people to cause them to focus on something they aren't interested in. My dad is like that since he retired. He use to hate politics- wouldn't discuss it. I remember once 20 or so years ago I had told him I was listening to some political talk show on the radio and he warned me about listening to such things.

Now, as he is retired, Fox is on at his house all the time. Every evening he sits and watches it until he falls asleep. The thing is, he calls me up sometimes and is really angry about something he heard on Fox and I've told him he needs to not be watching that stuff as it's designed to make him mad and they aren't telling him both sides. He knows that, but he's addicted to it. Many nights I will text him and tell him about some show (not news or politics related) on another channel that I am watching hoping he will turn it and watch it-and sometimes he does.

I go to an "old time" barbershop in a small town. The two guys there (both in their late 60s) always have on Fox News.

Every time I am there, they are always talking about whatever Fox is talking about. Doesn't matter the issue, doesn't matter if it relates to them in any way. I haven't been in there when Fox was talking about the WNBA though so I can't comment on that.

The thing is, they are usually talking to each other about it, not to customers. Course, customers will speak up and talk too sometimes but they both seem more concerned with what the other is saying than what customers are saying, but they remind me of a married couple talking back to the tv. It's actually pretty amusing.
