This will go down as the final example of cal damned either way he rolls with uk fans
“At least tubby knew when to leave”. A week later and he’s a coward for leaving.
I reallllllly hope we can get one of the top 3 names and the board can go back to some form of civility. But, the man did great things for us and the state and does not deserve to be attacked outside of basketball coaching skill. He should be thanked and thought of WAAAAY higher than the one some are hoping comes “back”.
I get trying to be positive, but he did a lot of bad for this program and he did it intentionally. It’s going to be natural for all emotions to be expelled and hashed.
I think when another decade goes by and he’s out of the game, we’ll bring him back and have a proper conclusion. But Calipari has really hurt this program in the second half of his tenure and that matters. I get you supported him until the end(surprising) and want to send him off well, and we will. He stepped down or left, and that was the right thing to do. I believe he was holding us hostage for the buyout and was tanking games to do it. He did this his last year in Memphis too, go watch the elite 8 Missouri game of that year. I believe as of right now he deserves what he’s getting.
But in the end we need good relationships with our former coaches, it helps our historical record. But Calipari did this to himself, he’s the one that didn’t adjust and didn’t do what it took to finish and retire here. Everything that’s happening is natural. We’ll be able to appreciate his early years more when he’s been gone for a while.
