He recently found out he has cancer. He is not doing well- his wife posted today his body is beginning to shut down, and doctors have told her even if a miracle happens, he’s not going to be the same person. This is all very sudden- maybe a month. They have three young boys.

Please keep Caleb and his family in your prayers. I firmly believe the 2013 team was built on the backs and attitudes of players like Caleb. He was a warrior on the field and he is fighting just as hard today I know.

Yes, thank you.

It’s been very quick— he is VERY sick right now and he’s had several setbacks. It is horrible. He’s a good guy and comes from a great family.

I am keeping up via a Facebook page: Caleb Reed’s Prayer Warriors, if anyone wants to join.

It is getting out that Caleb has passed away. Please continue praying for his family that loved him dearly, especially his wife and 3 young kids. It’s just hard to imagine. Great family. I am definitely hurting for them.

Caleb was a warrior. I wish I could find a good video of him from 2011 when he pitched that gem to send us to the final against Florida in the Super- he was nails that season. That’s how I will remember him for sure.

I'll be keeping Caleb's family in my thoughts and prayers especially his wife and boys. I hope State can find a way to honor Caleb and his family at Dudy Noble this spring.

Terrible news. Puts a lot of things in perspective. He was a great player and I’m sure an even better person, according to the statements above.
