Could Peppers be the best of NJ talent we've faced.

Doesn't bode well for Saturday....tho I'll be rooting & cursing at the screen for each bad call against us, each play where the announcers promote to the max the fact that, that was Joe Smoe who turned down his home state (Rutgers) to play for Brand X U. I'll be cheering / squirming in my chair as our QB (Lav) tries to wiggle out of danger, or G'd forbid actually tries to go vertical for more than 10 yards. Watching as always.

Would be nice if we could keep a few STARS (highly rated) in house.

Hopefully our next coach will be able to capture a few gems that are on the radar....and want to come to Rutgers.

As a talent? Yes and it's not close. And I say that with a ton of respect for Calhoun's ability and production.

There will always be a blue chip recruit that goes out of state, regardless of the state that they are from.

The guys you named are great talents and yes we need to do better in NJ but outside of Calhoun and Mcaevoy those guys were EVER coming to Rutgers. Don't care who the coach is......we passed on Calhoun bc of os eating that happened at a basketball game.IIRC, this board wanted no part of McEvoy bc of his "character" issues.

How many times have we all pretty much said this? It is always our "next coach" which pretty much tells you all you need to know about the last guy.

Greg had already left before Apple was a senior in hs.
That's right, two weeks before, so let's put that one on Flood. Think his mind was made up before Greg announced he was leaving. He was always leaning towards OSU with Notre Dame a close second, if I recall correctly.

I get the pile on Flood narrative, but let's keep the facts straight.

Yeah but we seem to lead the league in star athletes wanting to leave their home state.

People on these boards always assume that these superstar NJ recruits would be as good at RU as they are at their current schools. I can't imagine any if these players being this good at RU with the current coaching.

You're right. Let's keep the facts straight. Rutgers or possibly ND was second. And the only reason he committed was because Schiano and Hafley left.
