That really irks me.

SERIOUSLY - please use this to report Ole Miss people drankin or doing anything else that is against policy. Surely harassment is against the rules - report that too. Hell, load that text inbox up.

They've advertised that all year, except without an emphasis on noisemakers. The only problem is, the blue hairs who want to complain about someone standing up in their section and being too loud don't know how to text.

I've been curious how often that has actually been used this year.

Just be smart about it. You've know for years now that if you have a cowbell in our stadium, it's going to be taken up. Just don't bring it, and you won't have to worry about it. Also, don't bring any sticks. Those aren't allowed either.

We are the GUEST in THEIR stadium. Simply DON'T take your cowbell into THEIR stadium. Have some decorum. Its a tradition for OUR home games and BOWL games.

MSU fans remind me of some of these local militias that still hang around today even thought they have no point anymore. Always scared somebody's going to take something from them, always have to have a cause, always have to feel like they are a victim.</p>

....by all means, TAKE YOUR COWBELL. I have taken a cowbell into Vaught-Hemingway FIVE TIMES.

HOWEVER, once you get it in, and this is important.....LEAVE IT THE 17 ALONE!!! There is no need for you to even touch it until the game is won. Once that happens, RING AWAY!! If you don't, you'll be like all the morons at Houston who either got ejected or had their bells taken away.

Bottom line is....if you take it and ring it before you're supposed to, it's your own damn fault. Don't come here bitching that they took your cowbell. If you'd done what you were supposed to, it wouldn't have happened.

In gmail, click settings. Then click labs. Then find the lab that says "Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat". Then click enable, then click save.

Then in the chat box on the left, type in the number you want to send a text to. Then click "send SMS". You'll get a popup where you can enter a contact name (LOL).

Now here's what happens...google sends 2 texts to that number - one with your message using <span style="font-weight: bold;">your gmail address as a reply-to address</span>. And a 2nd one that tells the recipient that they can reply with STOP to stop gmail from sending text messages to that number.

We have the same system in place.

However, that is no reason not to be a complete jackass and overload their system this weekend. I encourage using actual sections, rows, and seat numbers in your text to report problems.

Whatever Bear fan ends up sitting next to us in the state section, I wonder how long it would take them to come investigate the text "REBS Pedophile"?

I just registered at joopz.com, a FREE web texting service. It looks like you can send a message to 10 numbers at a time. Just enter 69050 10 times. Haven't tested it yet, but it looks like you can delay the sending of the message to whatever time you want, including 6:15PM on Saturday. The only thing I don't like is that it desplays your username and not a real phone number as the sender, but if you're looking to just to run up the traffic, give it a try.

Whether you overload and spam the system or not, the security in your section will hear your cowbell; therefore it will get taken up.<div>
</div><div>By overloading the system, all you'll be doing is keeping the security from fixing ACTUAL problems.
<div>
</div><div>Goodness. There's a difference between having fun with your rival and being a 17ing obnoxious jackass.</div></div>

Now what you and LSU fans do before games is none of our concern.

waiting for a text to find the problem. If it's there in front of them, they'll fix it; and it's not like ringing a cowbell is something you can hide. Everyone in the stadium can hear it, including security.<div>
</div><div>You ring it, it's gonna get taken up; whether security can get a text about it or not.</div><div>

The Ole Miss athletic department is asking people to use the text message system to report cowbells. As you mentioned, it'll be quite obvious where the cowbells are. Thus, this petty statement is not needed, and it's pretty ridiculous for your own administration to be asking people to use an emergency text line to report cowbells. So, we're just going to respond with a completely over the top and uncalled for counter attack.

I'm cool with that. Y'all went junior high, we're going middle school. Your move.

Bringing the cowbell to a visitors stadium is ridiculous. But at the same time, using the "emergency" text system to notify stadium officials of cowbell ringing is just as ridiculous.

are not legal in V-H Stadium. I know a few State fans that have used this argument and told me that they were bringing their cowbell into the stadium.<div>
</div><div>On top of that, it reminds our fans (and yalls) that you can text that number to turn in banned items. This also includes alcohol, cigarettes, sticks, etc. And honestly, people won't have time to text the number before the cowbell gets taken up. There may be 3 or 4 times that the "emergency" system gets used to notify security of cowbells, tops.</div>
