The same ones calling for people to be fired and overreacting are the same people that wanted Jeremy Pruitt.
Are we a great team? nope.
Is the sky falling chicken littles? Nope

Was that a good game we lost? Yep

I was never calling for Pruitt. I was happy with the hire but it’s not working out. It happens and it’s best to end it before you get too far down the road.

I think we should fire all our coaches and hire one from the high school ranks and go back to the wishbone offense

What does who someone wanted to hire have to do with our current coach not working out ?

Where would we be without suspensions or injuries? Just asking. We played much of the game yesterday with true freshmen at several key positions. Both CBs, a couple of DTs, and QB for almost all of the 2nd half.

I know, excuses are like ********, yada, yada, yada. Bama and LSU can weather that storm. MSU can't.

Overgeneralizing much?

I thought we made the right hire. I never wanted Pruitt here. I want Jomo to be successful. There is no personal vendetta here. It's about the product on the field.

Not like we have a bench full of 5 stars waiting for their chance to hit the field. We are usually lucky to find 22 SEC caliber players. Talent levels are starting to improve here I think. I can't remember the last time we sent 5 players to the NFL and some on practice squads in the same year. We are gonna struggle anytime we have injuries and suspensions period. This ain't Bama

I think we've all got a comprehensive understanding of your opinion at this point.

Saying it isn’t working out after 1 season and 3 games is dumb dumb dumb.

Don’t be dumb.

What win total will you say is “working” out for this year considering what we lost last year (we all new it was a rebuilding year) and the suspensions? 6? 7? 8?

7 and 5 is a success for this year with the hand we have been dealt. Even before yesterday.
8 and 4 is still a possibility but a long shot.
6 and 6 sucks but it isn’t sky is falling.
If we go 5 and 7, then next year should be a tight rope.

Doing something right now is the worst idea ever.
Losing your cool over it says something abt the man in the mirror.

I never wanted Pruitt or Morris. I don't think Joe is a bad coach, he just can't get out of his own way for whatever reason. Something hasn't clicked for Joe, he seems confused, disorganized, & not a leader of men. We can't afford a coach to learn certain aspects on the fly, we need one that can come in and get results. Even in losses there are certain results achieved, not with Joe. There are too many people taking this personal, it's just business.

You guys look like records like they are the end-all, be-all. It's making you look like an idiot.

We have one of the easiest schedules in the SEC. We play four non-conference cupcakes (one of which we've lost to - and yes, they are a cupcake), and then we have Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Kentucky. 7-5 is not a success against this schedule. It's a failure.

This was the story of Moorhead's first season, and it's the story so far of his second: opportunity lost. I'm glad you like that kinda thing, but most of us don't.

we have no idea weather K-State is a cupcake or not. They are 3-0 and, may turn out pretty decent. It’s not like we lost to South Alabama or something Jesus.

It’s funny, I feel like people wanted Mullins gone too after that. Now some of y’all want him back so bad now.

To a smaller extent the men’s basketball team is treated similar to football teams under Moorhead unfortunately. Every post after a loss is about lack of effort, and Lack of a good product. Fans in the state of MS find the same excuses not to show up or whatever. Yet that team was the first to make the NCAAT in like 10 years and deserved better form the fanbase.

If the product isn’t pretty close to perfect (like Women’s basketball or baseball) then it’s excuse time. Only at MSU.

K-State is not a cupcake. But it's definitely a game we should have won.

If it is just business then let’s take a business approach and analyze all pieces of the program. You want to fire someone you really know very little about. You have no clue of what goes on day to day inside the program. I would imagine there are people inside the program who do know the capabilities of JoMo so I am going to let them do the analytics while I find some joy in something else.

Firing Moorhead after the season, especially if we end up 7-5, would be detrimental to Mississippi State Football.

We aren't a historically good program, and firing a coach after 2 above average seasons for the school would lead to no coach in the country touching this job. If you want Freeze coaching from a bubble on the sideline then firing Moorhead is the right call.

Oh, they wanted him gone in 2012, pretty seriously in 2013 (big money boys wanted Hud) until he beat Ole Miss, then again in 2016 until he beat Ole Miss. I too was personally sick of his **** by 2016, I think he was well on his way to tanking the program. Of course, I'm the ones still supporting Moorhead so that point is moot for me.

Here’s another point. I totally get the reasoning behind people not showing up to the game in the first place. It’s hot as hell, more so then any other year I can recall in recent memory and that’s saying something. I just can’t stand the excuses like they don’t hustle and the product on the field sucks. Not a fan of half the stadium just leaving after half time, especially the student section. I mean, it’s 14 -10 and it seems weird to leave so early in a close game , if you put effort into going in the first place. Sure didn’t help matters that the stadium was pretty empty In the second half. I mean fan support probably shouldn’t be a factor, and the teams motivation should be from within, but it seems to matter for college athletes. I believe in a slight bit of home advantage especially on the defensive side of the ball. A jacked up crowd motivates the defense and makes it harder for the offense to communicate or whatever. Just saying I wish the fanbase within a reasonable distance would support the team a bit better, even tho It’s not the greatest of times right now. Still not really bad times yet IMO. Certainly not Croom bad like some suggest.

We’re not too far down the road. We just pulled onto the interstate from the exit ramp, and accelerated to 55 mph. Once we hit 78mph, lean back, and set the cruise, then we will be far enough down the road to make a judgement.

I haven't said to fire Joe now, but there's a coach or two that's needs to go & Joe needs to figure some things out. I don't claim to have the answers, but it's obvious something is not right with his approach. Some decisions have to be made one way or another & I'll support the program no matter. It's ok for us to disagree, but calling each other idiots & morons & whatever is not necessary & helps nothing. Whatever decisions are made, it's just business, & State was here long before Joe & will be here long after. I agree, finding joy in other parts of your life is great & we should all do that.
