We can have all the wishful thinking we want but he will most likely kick *** next year.

that newton still starts next year. heck, elliott didn't get any carries for us yesterday, but we know he'll still be a big factor in the running game. it's probably not something to read into, but those figures just struck me as interesting.

Cam's position is going test his knowledge of the playbook and leadership skills against a group of guys who have already had a year in that system. Also, judging by his completion percentage against that group, he still has a long way to go. Physically the dude is built like Vince young. Whereas Elliot's limitations have always been purely physical. I think after a summer of weight training provided he's not injured again he'llhave a good shot at seeingthe field every game. </p>

How funny would it be that his biggest job is to prepare the 1st D for Relf this season. While I thought thatNewton would be the savior to our program, I am truly amazed at the progression that Relf has gained with real coaching. Newton may have really taken a step back playing against inferior talent. If Relf can put up good number throwing the ball knowing that he is not a real threat running the ball is a real good sign. I really did not see him having a great game yesterday without really being able to carry the ball. We will see, but we are Mississippi State. Newton will only have a good game against us.
