Don't shoot the messenger, just got this info and figured some of y'all would want to know. An Auburn buddy of mine just said that Newton is on campus right now, and the feeling going on right now is that Newton will commit to AU after his visit. According to him, their recruiting reporter has said that the 5th Early Enrollee spot is now considered filled with Newton and are stopping trying to EE anyone else. Take it for what its worth, I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Newton seems like too good of a fit with Mullen and the offense to go anywhere else but to y'all. Who knows. Have a good weekend dawgs.

To the reports from the MSU recruiting guys and the MSU fans after we saw the picture of Cam ringing the cowbell at the Egg Bowl.

said that if he goes to Auburn we would be screwed. They really don't have a proven QB next year, and with a better overall program, and them having put 1 1st round QB in the NFL in Jason Campbell, they have a better pitch to him in terms of his wish for the best chance to get to the NFL. Todd was allowed to throw the ball around, and with Ben Tate leaving, and Fannin not really a true RB, Auburn will only have McCaleb with any SEC experience at RB, so they may lean on Newton to throw/run the ball a lot. I really wish this drama would end, but I've had a bad feeling for a while now, so I'm not going to be as pissed as if he commited to Auburn or OU a couple of weeks ago.

Every time he goes on a visit it seems he's on the edge of committing on the spot.

I know their roster and staff about as well as I know ours and still keep tabs on their team. They have some serious depth problems at QB, especially if Tyrik Rollison, their freshman, misses any time with his suspension. Former Spain Park QB Neil Caudle is the guy for next year, and he has about as much college experience as any of us do. Now, the same thing is true for us in terms of weak QB depth and lack of RB experience in relation to Auburn. I think it's gonna come down to which program has a better chance to get him the recognition he needs to get to the next level, and that's Auburn.

I don't think he wants to go somewhere he will play against Mullen twice.

They reportedly have a good relationship, and that strikes me as something that would factor into the decision. Silly is a word women use. You a woman?

It looks like half the people don't even want him, and the other half don't know who he is. They seem to think they already have enough depth and don't need another qb.. I'm with most people when I say I am sick of hearing about it.</p>

I used "silly" because I was trying to be nice.

The idea that he wouldn't go AU because he would have to face Mullen twice is dumbassedry.

Better?

For all their reports it seems like they really have him or that's what they believe. They had a quote by newton saying that the auburn coaches having really wanted him for the last couple of weeks. I'm so ready for this to be over with one way or another. I'd feel sorry for Mullen if he lost Newton to Auburn. You'd think that would hurt to lose someone you have had a relationship with for so long and recruited so hard to see them sign with another SEC team with several QB's on the roster. Oh well, one way or another it will be over soon and we can move on either way.

I'd love to have him here, but I'm fine with the QB's we have going into next year. Relf has shown that (one way or another) he can move the ball down the field. Personally, I would have liked too seen Relf throw it around a bit more, but that's on Mullen. And even if Relf doesn't develop, we have Russell, who I am very excited about.

is that State had everything set up as perfect as we could between the relationship and experience he has with/in Mullen's system, plus his official visit weekend could not have gone better if we had planned it for years. When it comes to the bitter end, if he doesn't choose State, then he really didn't want to be here, if he does, the wool gets super thick. I obviously hope he picks us, and I think chad will give decent depth walk-on, but I'd definitely rather lose both to OU than a coach that went 5-19 at iowa State.

running the whole deal, has been with Cam on an official visit is to MSU. I won't believe otherwise until someone posts proof instead of rumor on this one. Also, I've read other message boards from KSU twitters where the only reason Cam went to Oklahoma was because they wanted him to come visit and his father said that when a program like that wants you to come visit, you visit out of respect for the program. The KSU guy also said that our coaches ( he didn't remember who they were) spent more time with Cam's parents than all of the other coaches there. BTW, this was at the JUCO championship game.

Just my opinion but I think that is exactly why he is at Auburn this weekend. Well, that and hostesses.

We may get Cam or we may not. Right now, I'm thinking we will but if we don't I won't lose any sleep. Russell will be head and shoulders (pun intended) above what we had last year and if Relf can learn the plays and develop his passising skills this spring, watch the <17> out! We already have the rice. Newton is just the gravy.

Well I guess it depends on what kind of person you are, and how close the relationship is. If he were an ******* like you appear to be, it may not cross his mind. If I were in his position, I would consider it, and wouldn't think it was being a dumbass for doing so.

In my opinion, being on your rivals message board on a Friday night is real dumbassedry. To each his own.

My only question is why would he pick Auburn over MSU? Seriously, Auburn?? The only reason I could see him telling people that Auburn is in the lead is because he probably had a really good time hangin out without his parents hanging around.

I can definitly see why we would be worried about OU. That is a school with some history and some "wow" factor. If they are out of the loop, then MSU it is.

AU has much more history than MSU. Been to many more bowl games. If the past is anything to pick from, we have a lot to worry about with AU. But today, I would much rather play for Mullen than Cshit.

the ones you have are apparently blurred. 1)Auburn`s status in the college football(although they`re not OU) world is where we are trying to get. 2)They are sitting on a top 10 recruiting class and we are trying to get into the top 40. 3) Their coaching staff and ours are different but one is not clearly better than the other. There are some schools that can run "seriously Auburn ?" smack but in real life we just ain`t one of them cuz.
