most passing yards in first two games in the HISTORY of the NFL. 854yds. Kevin Kolb #2 with 718yds. Todd Marinovich #3 with 638. Who was the dumb17 that blasted me for saying he should be the Panthers 1st pick? Oh and he also broke the record for most passing yards in one game by an NFL rookie with 432. He broke HIS record from week 1 of 422yds. I wonder if the Carolina fans are excited about their future even though they are 0-2? Wonder if a single one of them would rather of drafted Patrick Peterson over Newton now?

Either way, congrats on being right. I was wrong about Newton's ability play QB in the NFL. I can admit that.

give them about four or five games into the season, and they may be better able to prepare for him.

I'm sure if we had gotten Newton that we would have choked away a game or so (LSU) and not won the SECT (or even West) and I'm sure Newton wouldn't have been even invited to the Heisman presentation (MSU and all)... and I'm sure he wouldn't have been the #1 overall pick (blamed on gimmick college offense) but still...the biggest thing that kills me on the whole Newton thing is how badly we need somebody like him to show we can put a QB in the NFL....

Not too mention I live in Charlotte and as a Falcons fan for 30+ years I would have immediately jumped on the Newton/Panther bandwagon to support a franchise player MSU alum here. I don't know if he'll be good or not but would have been cool and the city has spent millions advertising this kid, reminding me everyday that MSU is soo cheap that we couldn't pony up the extra $20,000 (and yes I wish we would have paid him and I think he got paid)..

and no disrespect to the other NFL guys we have out there who are kicking *** but QB's rule this game with the marketing and kids..

Guess that makes Cam Newton #7 in NFL history. <div>
</div><div>
</div><div>I should be mad at Cam for snubbing State for the money at Auburn, but for some reason I still find myself sort of rooting for him, and I really can't figure put my finger on why I feel that way. I guess it's like State fans rooting for Roy Oswalt or Monte Ellis (even though they picked the real pros, not a pro school in our same division). We were so close to getting Cam, and we still had a good season without him. I think there's also that Cam seemingly wanted to sign with State but he was manipulated by his father to go to Auburn. </div>

Cam wanted to be at State.<div>
</div><div>I will gladly pull for him now that he is in the NFL and not at Auburn.</div>
