This dude (Evans) seems to really have it in for Cam. Should really endear him to the Auburn faithful.

The <span style="font-weight: bold;">dual</span> threat transferred from Blinn College to Auburn

He's a triple threat: 1. steal's other student's papers (which is really a crappy thing to do considering a real student almost got an F because of what he did--good for the professor); 2. Buy's papers off the internet and turns them in as his own work; and 3. Steals laptops.

he made a good point. This has nothing to do with him playing for Auburn. The only thing they are trying to do is build a case for his character. Bo also said shouldn't this be about Cecil Newton more so than Cam.

It appears Cam is the idiot pawn being used. The only question about him in all of this seems to me to be whether he is eligible. That's it. And AU is playing a very dangerous game on that issue.

Heard several callers this morning on the sports show claiming racial overtones. It is inevitable that this route will be taken because the heat is getting turned up fast and they have no other way of defending themselves......the truth will get them nailed so it has to be the white man trying to stick it to the black man. When do Jesse and Al show up?

he is in now. I'm sure Mullen didn't really care, if he could win the west or win 9 games...who really gives a ****? But when you compound all of that with the cheating implications, then it becomes a big deal.

I think its appropriate for the media to look at his character. That's an award for a student athlete not a pro.

It does have something to do with his character. It didn't seem to bother him to open up the student honor code and take a dump on the rules and regulations when it came to writing a simple essay, yet it seems very plausible now, that a guy with his talent level to abide by the simplest NCAA rule around. The simplest rule of the classroom was broken, without any regard to his team or school. Why wouldn't this guy lie about taking money. It boils down to, can the NCAA trust this guy at his word. People seem to think they could, but now... He cheated once, why not again.<div>
</div><div>Also I had a Auburn co-worker yesterday who has been out since last Thursday come up to me and say, "I hate that liar John Bond." I would take John Bond's word over this cheaters word 10 times out of 10.</div>

Cam's daddy would be better served to keep his mouth closed. There may be other dirty stuff about his son hiding and yet to be brought out in the press. Cam may come out looking pretty bad in all of this.

I must say that it was really nice of Auburn to take Nutt's lead and get into teh Bidnessof Hepping People.

MSU needs to adopt more humanitarian practices. Seems to be a trend amongcollegiate football coaches these days.

...but as I understand it, Sidney was basically ineligible for the past year for lying to investigators, right?

Who knows what Cam has told any investigators, but for those of us who have been giving Cam the benefit of the doubt (that his father was pimping him out without his knowledge), this type of information does damage to any public goodwill directed his way. If Cam has been cheating on tests, found in violation of an academic honor code at Florida, etc, on TOP of his "isolated" bad decision to buy a laptop out of the trunk of a car and then lie to the police, then chances are he's gonna get caught in a lie with the NCAA.

I am now sitting down with popcorn to watch this all unfold.

Clearly this has nothing to do with his current situation at Auburn, but I think this casts a lot of doubt on the theory that Cam was completely in the dark about what was going on with his recruitment, that he's really a good guy whose father screwed him over, etc. I mean sure, Cecil is a world-class piece of ****, but I wasn't buying that Cam was really a great guy. I'm buying it even less so now.

Really, taking another kid's paper and just writing your name on it? Jebus.

You get nearly expelled from a University for cheating but the University can't tell anyone? Seems like that's a little weird

But Daddy didn't tell him to submit someone else's paper*, or submit one purchased off the internet*. Those are things that well might (or SHOULD) lead him to be ineligible academically, whether or not his dad shopped him around.

*Allegedly.

after posting that^, I was thinking that this may end up pretty similar to Masoli's case at UM. I have been thinking that if the allegations are true, Cam may well have left Florida to avoid a punishment (for cheating). It seemed that in Masoli's original denial of eligibility by the NCAA, that was basically their argument - that they wouldn't grant him eligibility at UM b/c he transferred basically to avoid a disciplinary action that would have made him unavailable to play the following year at Oregon. I was thinking that the same might be appropriate for Newton.

Now, since the Confederates pulled whatever Tom Cruise Witchcraft they did and got the NCAA to reverse their ruling, I don't know if that theory is still valid. Depends on how much backroom pull the WarPlainsEagleTigerMen have, I guess.

Cecil wasn't the one who stole a laptop and then threw it out the window when police were questioning him. Cecil wasn't the one who got busted for academic fraud 3 times at Florida. And if anybody doesn't think that Cameron didn't know about being shopped around, they're crazy. He's a 21 year old man. He's not going to just let his father pick his school for him. He knew exactly why dad wanted him to go to Auburn.</p>
