I was watching sportscenter 10 min ago and then the cable went out. The 10 analog channels you can still see, but they look pretty bad. Anyone else having this problem? I hope this means metrocast is working on the cable because we aren't picking up all the channels we are supposed to and they are completely out of order.<div>

To answer my own post in case anyone had the same problem, re-run a channel scan. They fixed the channels and we now have waaayyy too many.

to complete it by the start of football season. I spoke with them yesterday about the HD service for my new Starkville condo that "The Sixpack" was so helpful to me a couple of months ago on our search. Man, we are looking forward to it.

Is your NatGeo sound jacked up? Since the "upgrade", the audio has be horrible.<div>
</div><div>the new digital stuff looks good, but having to put a dash in the number is a PITA.</div>

they're changing to where you'll need a box for most of the channels. easier to bilk the students that way, i suppose. feds require that there be a 'basic' service that doesn't require a box, so they're shifting the crappiest channels to those low numbers to make as crappy a 'basic' package as possible.

whenever i think of terribly run companies, starkville cable is the first to come to mind.

Anyone have a channel lineup that has, well, what the channels ACTUALLY are right now, with all the dashes and such?

Oh, and does anyone else have the problem with the screen size? On our big flatscreen, 80% of the channels come in as full screen (black vertical bars) or just oddly small (black vertical AND horizontal bars)

This is awful.

Yeah, to get the channels to fall in the order that they are on the TV Guide, you have to go to Metrocast and get a DVR box... regardless of TV type. I have a Sony Bravia and every channel past 19 was jacked up and had to input dashes and wasn't in the correct order. Called metrocast and they said we needed that box, even though on their commercials and website, it says if you have a TV with built in QAM tuner and crap you don't need it.

Also, even though the HD channels were listed on the 'Expanded Basic' lineup, I wasn't picking them up. Called metrocast again, said I needed a HD Converter. I said I have a HD TV, and they said I had to upgrade to 'Digital Expanded Basic' to receive HD channels. I then asked why they even listed the HD channels in the 'Expanded Basic' package... she never fully answered that question.

Metrocast = Worst company in starkville

SED get the top honors.<div>
</div><div>But you're right about the cable. I subscribe to the "expanded HD" package and pay for a HD/DVR in the living room. In the other rooms I only get ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC in HD (straight coax into the tv, no box). </div><div>
</div><div>What pisses me off the most was the fact I was getting ESPNHD in ALL my rooms before the "upgrade". Since then, no ESPNHD (it was channel 79-9).</div><div>
</div><div>I guesssubscribingto HD doesn't mean you get HD in all your rooms. AND you still can't get PPVs in HD...no UFC in hi-def.</div>

up at BellGrove on South Montgomery. Honestly, in a two week period before we went up there to look, four of the places we were going to take a look at had already been sold. Real estate holding up well in Starkville.
