I'm making final plans for our trip to Gainesville for the Florida game. I'm waiting for Monday for the game time to be announced to make hotel arrangements.

In the mean time, I'm trying to figure out the best place to park or better way to get to the game. I've checked Google, Mapquest, Google Earth and the UF gameday info site here: http://www.gatorzone.com/...=parkdir&sport=footb

Their parking map isn't very helpful. Also, looking at satellite photos of the campus and comparing to the parking map, there does not appear to be a whole lot of public parking space. Looks to be a nice hike to the stadium.

Has anyone been to Ben Griffin for a game and have any tips on a place to park or better way to get to the game? Any recommendations of things to see or do in Gainesville? Good food?

Also, anyone remember who the UF fan was that came to this board last year and got so much help on Starkville info? I figured he might be a good one to ask but I've searched the archives and couldn't find the posts.

I FEEL AN UPSET COMING IN THE SWAMP!!!!!!!

(probably me upset over an MSU whooping)

try the churches near campus, most raise money by using their lots as pay to park.

Be careful of home owners that turn their yards into pay lots. I have heard of them filling up, then calling the cops and having people towed to open up more space.

because we decided to go back to the coast to gamble to find we were blocked 3 cars deep. We went to the bar across the street from the purple porpoise and sat there until 2 AM drinking.

There are some shuttles that run to campus though, one is at the Oaks Mall on Newberry Road.

There are also multiple pay lots, best ones to use are the churches. Park in private yards at your own risk.

...we parked in the purple lot on the top right of your map. It was free as best I recall. The time before, we parked on the grass somewhere on the other side of SW 13th St. Also free.

...Jackie used to talk about putting knots on peoples' heads. I think I still have a knot on my head from that 52-0 game. Longest drive back ever.

Gotta love Spurrier, though, for getting one last score for his waterboy. And then Jackie calling a time out at the end of the game when Florida's players started spilling out on the field.

Is behind one of the bars across the road from the stadium. Its in the area where 'reserved disabled' label is on the map.

But that was years ago when I lived down there, might have changed.

Gota get there early though.
