To anyone in Starkville,

How is campus looking? When I left last weekend it was a total mess due to the rain. Has landscaping made it look any better or is it still just a mud pit in a lot of places?

I was particularly wondering about the junction

everything is pretty much the same. Every grass parking lot is tore up. I haven't seen anyone trying to work on it so not sure what they are going to do.

that the university is considering closing the junction this weekend because it is still so bad.

Is there any truth to this?

and unless something changes all grass areas for parking and tailgating will be open. There is a 60% chance of rain Thurs nite and Friday . If we get much rain they may have to make a call.

But I don't see how anybody can put up tents there without it being another mud-bath. The only way I can see this happening is if the mud is completely dry. The nice grassy area that we all enjoyed is going to take some time to grow back. The campus looks about the same as when you left it. All the grass areas have tire tracks in them and I don't see how they can fix it before next week. I really don't see how they can fix it before season is over. It looks that bad.

I guess we will find out tomorrow what Byrne will do about the parking situation.

it seems to make every telecast. plant some kudzu and let it grow over it or something. don't we have people at MSU who could get that done?</p>

In my opinion, nobody should be able to drive/park on the grass. People, especially in Mississippi, need to learn to walk a little more. Fans should be happy enough that they get to park in the lots because I, along with all the other students, am not even allowed to park in my designated parking zone that cost me $85. On top of that, once the game is over the older fans get to go home and not worry about what the campus looks like, but all the students have to walk through our now ****** looking campus. With that many people out there, sure... there will be damage due to foot traffic, but the massive ruts left behind from Tahoe's, minivans, and Z71s really pisses me off.
