can a gym have certain characteristics that make it difficult to shoot 3's?

just wondering from those who may know.... the dudes were saying that 3 point shooting in the tourney so far has been turrible...

places like the Superdome can throw off a shooter's depth perception because there is not a background compared to a gym like the hump. That being said, some guys like it and have no trouble at all.
